why aren't groin protectors used in pro boxing?

    Maybe you should make yourself available to be the "official" groin protector for all big fights.

    I always think to myself that it is usually the boxer that is losing, continually read******g his cup/trunks.

    I rarely notice the one that is winning doing this(continually). Margarito against(a lot), Corrales vs Mayweather(some), etc.

    Is it just me?

    He does actually have a point. The cups they use in other sports like lacrosse can protect against a lacrosse ball going 100mph, so surely they could protect from a punch. Why don't they use those kind of cups in boxing?
