Why aren't the TV networks taking more advantage of the Pacquiao-Mayweather undercard

The eyes of the world will be on the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight this weekend.

    The undercard features:
    Vaysl Lomachenko vs. A Bricklayer
Leo Santa Cruz vs. A Taxi driver.

    :patsch

I believe the price the Yanks are paying for it is $99. For one fight. What if that fights ends in the second round due to a head clash and is ruled a technical draw?

And what about the people in the arena who have paid for tickets? How ****ed off would they be?

    My suggested fights was:
    - Roman Gonzalez v Juan Francisco Estrada II
    - Nicholas Walters v. Vaysl Lomachenko

They are on paper, competitive and entertaining fights and relevant to the division those guys fight in.

    The advantages of having these:

    - Hardcore fans who have become sick of Mayweather/ Pacquiao and their antics over the years would be more willing to part with their money for the significant fights on the undercard.

    - The atmosphere in the arena would build nicely if two wars precede the main events

    - People watching getting their first glimpse of these fighters will likely be interested in seeing them again- thus they may one day be headlining their own hows.

    - People will feel less ripped off if the main event fails to deliver.

    - The fighters I mentioned wouldn't command an astronomical fee for this kind of exposure.

I agree with you,but at least the main event is a big one.
I would feel way from impressed if say,us UK fans were going to be expected to PPV for some ****e like,em,say,Brook v Gavin.
But thats just some hypothetical match up and we all know that would never be made as a PPV.

They are paying for Mayweather v Pacquiao.
    No one cares about undercard.

I wonder what costs more, Leo Vs Cab driver or Gonzalez Vs Estrada II

You just answered your own question right there but are clearly too idiotic to comprehend. With the eyes being 100% on the main event, why waste other major fights that could easily headline on another night to satisfy the hardcore(minority) fans?.

But on the Brook v Gavin you are more liekly to get value for money as 1- it's cheaper and 2- there are competitive fights on the under card.

So what's the point in having an undercard then? Why not just start with the main event?

And I guarantee you if they had the undercard I suggested hardcore fans would probably care more about that than they do the main event

I think Leo got 825,000 on the undercard of Mayweather-Maidana 2 and the taxi driver got something like 75,000.

I think Gonzalez said at one point he wanted 1m between him an Estrada to rematch, but he would probably take a little less for this kind of worldwide exposure, so I doubt there would be much difference in it.

Did you read the rest of the post or do you have reading comprehension issues. I know you're not the sharpest poster on the site, I'm saying why not take advantage of all these eyes to make stars people want to watch again?

And if what you are saying is true, why have an undercard at all?

You could have turtles fight in the ring before the main event and the crowd and everyone watching will be pumped as ever for May vs Pac

This is the only fight where I couldn't give a **** for the undercard.

Because these eyes won't pay attention nor give a damn about the undercard. Remember how awesome the undercard of Tyson vs Lewis was?. The fact that you're asking "why have an undercard" as a form of defense in a discussion you continue to reveal your mental illness in says enough about how "sharp" you are.

I remember how awesome the Canelo-Mayweather undercard was when they put Lucas-Garcia on the undercard.

The fact that you don't have a comeback other than resorting to insults like a keyboard warrior shows that you are the mentally ill one son.
