Boxing fans in Florida prefer watching Tiger Woods tee off than watching Berto and all boxers coming from the state. Can't blame them, Berto is a Bum and bums don't excite you. Wake me up when Berto starts fighting guys his size :hat
I agree Martinez would fair well there in MIami with the Argentine fanbase. That said I hope Dibella makes MGM Grand at Foxwoods his home turf cause its 30 minutes away from me.
Boston doesn't even have this excuse, and Boston has a much richer boxing history than the entire state of Florida (but is now a ghost town). :-(
Tampa is a great fight town. I've been to several fights in Tampa where there were 15,000 people packed in the forum for the Dawson v. Johnson and Tarver v. Woods fights. Jeff Lacy had a great crowd there for his fight with Reid. And the Hyatt has a card nearly every month. Been to fights at the fairgrounds too.
i went to miami for the trinidad vs thiam fight and the arena was packed and it was a great atmosphere so at least miami can hold big fights i dont know about the rest of the state :hat
