Why aren't we chasing Comm. titles any longer?

You can take it as fact (I have heard directly from the horses mouth), Frank Warren pay's a lot better than this for both Comm. challenges and defences in the UK - FACT! :deal

The bloke I refered to was based in England. He also had a good reputation before winning the Commonwealth title. The defence was against a VERY popular local fighter. The poms were said to have ripped of our man, but I have not seen the footage.

If two highly regarded fighters can draw a packed house, then they'll be able to negotiate/ be paid accordingly. There's really no limit to what a Commonwealth Title can be valued at. Especially in England.

The glory days of the game may be slowly disappearing..... but that's only due to complete idiots, with no idea of the history, trying to make their way into the game with half baked ideas.

The best way to put the Commonwealth title back on the map in Oz is match up two good opponents for one over here.

If the title is then 'sold' the right way from then on it'll gain momentum, and hopefully put some of these crap titles in the shade where they belong.

Surely the best thing that could happen to Oz boxing is the progressive steps reverting back to:

    1/ State
    2/ National
    3/ Commonwealth
    4/ World title

Problem is that regional titles have taken away any direction to the National and Commonwealth titles. Every bloke seems to defending multiples of these regionals at each promotion. A world ranking is not what it used to be, and the fighters can't be blamed.

True mate. They are just taking the bait that's on offer to them.

Regardless of who's to blame the system is crap, and the old traditional system did work well, and for a long time, before it was *******ised.

1.) See I know what was offered for the Comm. shot that I was referring too as I was involved in the negotiation, not like yourself that relies on Ippy to do it for you.

2.) 10 other promoters?? Certainly can't see in my words where I said 10? I only stated your essential masturbation tool you call Boxa.

Somebody has a bee in the bonnet

So are you saying BOXA is the only promoter that gets fighters to sell tickets and tables instead of a straight out purse?

I dont see how you can blame BOXA for everything...why so much hate for BOXA :huh

Promoters do what they need to do so they put on the best shows possible.

When have BOXA ever put on 'the best show possible'?

When has the finance not been available to support the undercard with a cash figure?

With the cash flow available, it's pretty obvious they've skimmed the fighters, the PPV subscribers and their own credibility. Save the bull**** Ash.

Yes very funny....I can see I didnt word that right

I was talking about the other 10 promoters in AUST that need to ask fighters to sell tickets or tables to prop up the pay.

Promoters see this as the best way to get the fighters closer to the pay they deserve while keeping the show as risk free as possible.

I have said many times BOXA should have put more cash into the UC....and I'm in support of other promoters using this method to keep aussie boxing ticking along :good

Could this be a blatant, late attempt for most ridiculous post of the year 'honors' by Ash??

im a kiwi living in the uk, and from what iv seen the comm title isnt even rated to high over here, the way the pomes look at it is: regional(english title) then commonwealth title then british then european titles.

It dosnt realy make much sense to me why the bristish title would be greater than the commonwealth but thats just the way it is.

Also the only other people that seem to challenge for the commonwealth title apart from the pomes and ghanians.

I rekon it would be great for the sport downunder for the commonwealth title to be contested for outside britain. How good would a ''New zealand vs Australia'' for the commonwealth title be, stage it in brisbane get all the kiwi expats in ther, how bout Soulan Pownceby vs Garth wood, or Kariz Kariuki,

    just an idea
