that fight was cearly not an ideal fight. nobody outside of the UK gave Clev a hope in hell of winning that fight and it showed on the night. now Clev has no title and frank has no world champions. it wasn't even that big of a fight they didn't sell that many tickets for it and Celv lost to a fighter that's not even a known name outside of hardcore fans. Clev should never have been a world champion and was poorley matched after he won the title.
frank ****** could manipulate the rankings and get none-entities like mitchell and nicky cook to mandatory positions
I think people are discrediting Beltran tbh.. He was ALOT better than I thought. His work on on the inside was brilliant and he never really took a flush shot coming in. That for me showed his difference in class. If billy and ricky are having issues thats a pity because billy has done a superb job with him. Good luck to ricky but I cannot see him going any further than this level.
You're contradicting yourself again... can't have both ways and complain about shitty match making and then once a good competitive fight gets made then it's poor match making. This is boxing, if Clev shouldn't of been world champion then you found that out in the ring, which we did. It was a good fight to make, good competitive fight which the fans were happy and surprised to see get made, that is good match making for the fans. It was time for Clevs to step up, he did and it didn't work out for him. That's the risks you have to take in boxing, it was long over due that Clev took that test and the only reason why we actually got that fight was because it was about the only fight ****** could make at that point, people were slating Waren and Clev for fighting nobody, he only had one world champion left who was showcasing his TV station, at that point they needed to be seen to be making a competitive fight cos people were losing their will to live following Clevs career. That about covers it.
Yeah he was nice and calm in there, took his time. Fought like a good honest pro. Shame the judges didn't judge like a good honest judge.
why "as". Clown spelling. The **** is that supposed to mean? Why as? What does that even mean? lulz. Worthless thread.
Hearns did a good job of picking bums for a decade for Calzaghe and several figths for Nath, but its true that I think he is losing his touch recently.
I think the layoff, cancellations, upcoming court case and criticism has affected Ricky a lot worse than it would've many other fighters. He needed that Vasquez fight, and it's no secret Ricky performs much better when he's not heavily favoured. I think he lost the momentum he had going after Mitchell, where many pundits and fans had it as a 50/50 fight, and it's not looking like he's getting his mojo back. I believe Ricky isn't as thick skinned as some people think, and it looks like things are weighing heavily on his mind. It's not inconceivable that losing that court battle could see him in financial difficulty.
