Canelo has always had one of the best p4p chins in boxing. Its no surprise given he has a neck of a rednose pit, thick and muscular.

I thought he had him going in the 11th but he pulled back. He knew he had the decision in hand... if not for crooked judges. They tried to give it to Saul but it was just too lopsided to propose such a judgement.

If Bivol had gone to the body around 6, he would have stopped Canelo I think. CA was tired without much body damage from Bivol. Rematch should be good.

He could've, but Bivol is a cautious fighter. And who knows, maybe he didn't want to embarrass Canelo that much since he knows he'll make even more money in a rematch? It might've been in the back of his head.

You would have to hurt Alvarez for that idea to work...as long as he's coherent, throwing punches back or at least parrying a few of the shots from Bivol, that would never happen.

Stepping on the gas as you say opens up Bivol to some hail mary shots from Alvarez.

You are not going to stop Alvarez (A-side) in Vegas off of flurries...you have to hurt him.

So slick defense means being punched in the face often and with flurries?

Fair enough....it doesn't mean that where I come from but each to his own.....

Why couldn't Canelo land more than 9 punches a round?

He was in first gear and he dominated Canelo. It literally looked like he went easy on him not to embarrass him for the rematch

Bivol is not a big puncher to stop someone like Canelo with one punch.
