Great post and some very salient points! I think the last one about how relaxed Bivol is in the ring and that - possibly - Beterbiev's previous opponents have been defeated before they even got in the ring (fighting scared/intimidated) is maybe THE key thing to the whole fight. Some have speculated that Bivol is intimidated by Bivol based on Saudi meeting and maybe because that fact that Dmitry has acknowledged how big a challenge Artur is - we won't really see the reality of that till round 2/3 I don't think, whichever way it goes.
The main reason Bivol is AB toughest fight is that he won't have the stamina advantage coming in later rounds. I think Bivol can go for 12 full rounds 100%, obviously he's going to have a different animal in front of him. We all know AB can knock you out in the 1st or 12th round, not a problem, but this time his opponent will have the same tank left. AB has to invest in the body alot in the first 6 rounds or else it will be a tough night for him. It's a flip'em fight for now....we'll see were it stands after the first 3 rounds.
Stamina advantage? Hard to have the stamina advantage when your ribs are getting blasted. This content is protected
Surely no one thinks this be anything but his hardest fight. It's his best opponent. He's very old. He's recovering from an injury. Beterbiev doesn't look to have slipped in his performances, but I can't help but think he'd have gotten his recent opponents out of there quicker in his prime which shows he has definitely fallen a few levels.
I feel like I am the one person that has Bivol by UD. I am sticking to that. And I think the excuse will be artur got old over night.
I just have the feeling that youth will be served. Or, maybe not youth, per se, but the less old guy is going to win!
Bivol has the tools and ring IQ to win and looks to have the toughness. I can see him putting Beterbiev down in route to a UD.
