Why blame Povetkin for PEDS when all top athletes take them?

The everybody takes them trope is getting old fast. We know that not everyone takes them because we still see massive body changes for guys that start later in their careers for example. For some it's pretty clear they are using (Briggs, Holyfield, probably Joshua), some do and it's hard to see they are (Toney, Tarver, G. Jones, Teper).

There are a lot of guys that just don't use out of priciple, fear of getting caught and losing their career/income/standing/health, or only use the lighter stuff wit much less physical benefits.
Others have testing agencies and/or labs in their back pockets, and can get away with basically everything.

The worst idea is that we should just stop testing, create monsters and have a "level" playingfield. Which of course is a stupid idea as you think it over for about 2 minutes.
Not going over it again, as many things have been written about it why this isn't in any way fair, healthy and preferable.

The underlined sentence above is hasty generalisation. You either worked with all pro athletes, which is logically impossible, or you're extrapolating from your personal experience to the general. The classic example of this is the white swan. All the swans I've seen are white, therefore all swans are white...

You could say PED use is rife in professional sports, that TUE's are now being commonly used for PE rather than treating genuine medical conditions, think of the alarming incidence of asthma in professional cyclists:

"An assessment of the British Cycling team before the 2004 Olympics showed that around 40 per cent had asthma compared to only about eight per cent of the general population. For Dickinson, this discrepancy stands to reason.
    Read more at https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/...cycling-and-asthma-317941#9RVeKoiMTd8c3P1T.99"

but as soon as you widen those statement to all based on personal experience then the statement is fallacious.

I don't mean to be pedantic or dismiss your personal experience. I'm just heartily sick of seeing this faulty reasoning being used to justify any or all number of bad or even dangerous ideas.

^ This. Meldonium was legal when Povetkin took it, and he never hid the fact that he took it. It's effectiveness is somewhat debatable in any case.

Lance Armstrong and Marion Jones never once failed a drug test. That proves that drug testing is somewhat useless and there are ways around being caught.

I stand corrected, I couldn’t possibly tell you “all” pro athletes have taken a naturally/unnaturally produced substances with intentions on improving their performance. While your white swan analogy makes a good point I don’t think it fully factors in the inundating pressures of being a pro athlete. One is a natural outlier while the other is more of a manifest destiny type of choice given to a man that has lived his life being judged on physical performance. If I’m working with “the” premier multi-specialty physician practice in New York and over half the perscriptions filled are for self-pay individuals it tells you a story. I honestly can’t divilge into the real numbers for obvious reasons.

It’s a hard pill to swallow and I respect your thoughts and appreciate the rebuttal. My honest opinion is that 90% of the fighters we focus on everyday in these threads have or are still dabbling in different levels of PEDs.

If anything Povetkin got another freepass from the short sighted freaks with their weird anti-american insecurities and ****.

Instead of realizing that drug testing is bull**** and banned drugs are banned by popularity not a clinic trial that tests the believed effect the drug has on the athlete. Popularity not effectiveness...They pretend like Pov beat a conspiracy.

It means anyone with the money to take any drug testing agency to court is probably going to win because the drug testing agency is depending on hearsey, popularity, and belief....none of which can take a man's livelihood from him in any court in any nation. You have to be a dumb mother ****er and use a drug from like the 19 ****ing 80s for VADA to have clinical proof on it's side.

This still isn't something these mindless ****s have clued in on. Rather, their take from all the bull**** 'science' VADA produces was an anti-Povetkin conspiracy. Not a system set up to fine anyone it can, nope, this was a directed manipulation of the system this by the evil Americans looking to make good holy all that is pure in the world Russia look bad....because....ya know....VADA doesn't want easy money they want to make Povetkin, a guy who has spend over a decade in the top ten and stopped absolutely no one who debuted after him from fighting for a title before him...both the winners and losers of those title fights he ducked, took two 0's from guys who never did much before or after him, and avoided Wlad for a decade just to hug it out in the end, look bad as if his ***** resume of leftovers doesn't do that on it's own.

Even now....look here BCS defending Pov's meldonium use by pointing out it used to not be banned.....like every drug ever huh, they were all legal once....and it's effect hasn't been proven.....well ya don't ****ing say. Look at the list of banned substances and know most of which are not proven to be any more beneficial than a ****ing ham sandwich. But yeah....Pov's is a special case....it's got Pov in it. He's been a ***** his whole damn career and and freepass Pov has never been criticized for it by that fans. Hence all the ****ing leftovers. Pat his ass every time he beats up a no hoper like ****ing Takam, minimize his bull**** anytime it's brought to light because he's Freepass Povetkin.

Because it's innocence until proven guilty, even if we think they're taking PEDs we can't just outright claim with 100% certainty that this or that guy is on PEDs until he gets busted.

Once you do get busted though, well you face the fire.

The thing I don't like about Povetkin's case though is that, he got busted for some minor ****. A recently banned heart medicine and all that was found was the smallest trace of it.

For me that's not enough to get the pitchforks out and stuff like that.

Though he probably was on something cause Post Wlad there was a transformation in his body shape and he seemed to hit harder too.
