Phentermine is an appetite suppressant. Might have helped him lose some weight but no anabolic or ergogenic effects.

The other substance he tested positive for was a benzodiazepine. These are muscle relaxants and sedatives, if anything it might have affected him negatively.

Source: 4 years of medical school, will be a qualified doc in a little over a year.

Don't come into this thread spouting uneducated broscience.

They may not have helped him but they fall on the list of banned stuff

So I guess rules are rules

my question is did Botha know he was breaking the rules by taking them

is the PED list in boxing clear like do these guys know everything that they can or cant take

    sandwich!!...bread!!!!...grain!!!

carbohydrates add energy to a boxers while the other fighter would be only lettuce on lettuce.

there are 2 things added recently because they are either used to mask the anabolic effects that they might have. or amphetamines could be dangerous to the boxer himself. it's half the reason why marijuan is banned apart form being an illegal substance.

Exactly. The athletes know what works for them and what doesn't. If something is on a banned substances list and the athletes are using it, they are trying to derive benefit.

    No.

Your body uses energy moving your body around the ring. It takes more energy carrying a 300lb frame around the ring than it does a 280lb frame. That is going to be less draining and give you more energy to fight with.

If you can't lose that weight by either doing it naturally or using a substance that isn't on WADA's band list then you've ****ed up and you've got an unfair advantage.

It's not hard not to take a banned substance.

I reckon he had been taking these banned substances because they negatively affect his athletic performances.

Why it wouldn't have helped him? - because he is out of shape anyway...

PEDS ain't gonna help Chris Aerolla... A diet and exercise routine will though...

PEDS help older FIT guys out like May, Pac, Marquez.

    People are dumb and naive.

They don't even know that PED's have been used in athletics since the early '60's. They refuse to spend an honest few hours of their own time researching it.

People think Aderal is a PED because of the "speed-like" affects mentally and physically, but they refuse to acknowledge that it is an affective masking agent, as most supplements are.

People don't get caught for "steroids." They get caught for various feminine products, and things like Aderal or "appetite suppresents" and **** like that which masks other use and levels of certain things in ones' body.

Botha used multiple banned substances. BANNED SUBSTANCES. I don't care to know what exactly they did or how much difference they made because it's impossible to know. He cheated. He got caught.

He wouldn't have used these substances if they didn't have a positive affect on his occupation.
