The names on the resume are great. However, the results are mixed.

I think the difference lies within the fact that no one is trying to tout Mosley as an atg. HOF yes, as is Calzaghe.

So why do people bring up Calzaghes resume when Mosleys is at least 50% worse?

We established many big names ducked Joe at his peak, only a prime Eubank would fight joe, and Joe was green then.

We also saw a shot calzaghe beat a prime Hopkins who is touted as an ATG, so no matter hwat you say, Joe Calzaghe is an ATG, we seen him demonstrate it so many times, including beating the best with his brittle hands where lesser boxers would have retired.

11 world champions is very good on any resume.

Man SMW was only a regional belt and he beat everyone in it (big eff'n deal, he was the king of all bums). Joe was closer to prime than old man Hopkins who was and still is over rated. The guy has the worst technique I have ever seen by an elite fighter ( he busy enough to win a gift against ancient Bhop and destroy RJJ who my 12 daughter beat up in sparring. The only thing super about Joe was that he was super middleweight

Lets see, what part didn't you get about Toney eating to HW, Collins retiring rather than being retired by Joe, Nunn bitching out, RJJ refusing so he could fight janitors, ... oh I forgot about Pavlik ducking Joe twice, and dawsons huge duck too.

His technique was flawless, proven by the fact he smashed up so many world champions.

Hopkins was prime, Joe wasnt prime since about 2001, when his hands were ruined, so he proved he wasn't just a knock out king, but the best boxer around too, by out boxing and pummeling boxing legend Hopkins for 9 rounds, the same Hop that ruined unbeaten unduisputed king Pavlik in his next fight.

RJJ smashed up a legend before he fought Joe, and then smashed up a good Lacey, he was ilegally stopped against Green and then, Hop beat him, but now age is showing on RJJ.

the fact that Hops best win and best performance came after Joe proves Hop was prime against Joe, prior to that, Hops best win was against gatekeeper blown up ODLH and blown up Trinnidad.

I agree the new lot may go on to do something good, but think of this, if A Ward were to win the Super 6, A Ward would not have faced and beaten any undefeated fighters in the tournament, and if Kessler came 2nd, he was a fighter that Calzaghe had already beaten that people rate Ward for beating. Maybe if Butes still around and looking impressive and Ward does a number on him, who knows.

Calzaghe - undefeated in 46 fights Ring LHW & SMW, WBO (21 defences), WBC, WBA, IBF titles
Beat all the top fighters who would face him.
I guess we cant agree, but most of the guys in the super 6 havent yet done as much as alot of the guys I listed on Calzaghes resumes
Its funny how after Calzaghe beat what was considered a shot Hopkins, Hopkins was considered a good fight for Pavlik, one which the fans wanted to see and considered a big fight for Pavlik.... against a shot fighter

Its a bit unfair to say the older crop did nothing, but then who are you refering to?

The question isn't whether or not Calzaghe is one of the greatest, but if he's THE greatest. I'm not sure, I think Joe Mesi has something to say about that.

The idea of undefeated fighters having more worth is a little off. It depends on the fighter and when they fought.
The notion that if Ward or any other fighter not beating an undefeated fighter means that their accomplisments are lessened is also a little off IMO.

To me undefeated is nice, but not a requirement for greatness.

Let's be honest....Shane didn't execute the plan the way Naz wanted. Credit to Floyd b/c obviously Floyd got into Shane's head or when Shane saw and felt Floyd in the ring he couldn't muster up the strenght to fight with confidence. That was the least confident i've ever seen Shane...even in the rematch with Vernon.
