no but dawson although deserving could make it a juicier fight by fighting some wel known in the Axis of where Joe fights to build up the fight. say he fights one of the belt holder Garay, erdie or even woods. that would get him more recognition in that part of the world then just fighting tarver agin or say fighting another mendoza or an american boxer that isn't well know in the JOes accesses.

Obiviously the bigger fights get made in the USA. and USA has the most stars but in order to get a fight with a famous fighter that is non american you have to build up the fight. for instance fight on a double bill in on his under card(mallinaggi vs hatton ) or fight a top rated fighter or belt holder that has name recognition in that fighter territory.

Who did Lacy beat before he got a match up set up with Joe he got a win over REID. joe had to get his win over B-hop to set up his fight with RJJ or a possible fight with KP. you getit.

dawson although fairly known in the us only to boxing fans is not as well known in europe (uk, france,germany... ect) as he is in the USA.

garay has had 4 fights in europe to very close fights with erdie in germany a win in spain and his most recent win was in geramany wich was a defense of his wba trinket. thats 4 fight out of latin america he's had more fight away from home then dawson has and got close decision losses in geramny. his othe loss is by DQ. dawson is a great young fighter but if he really wants to make it appealing to joe he should try goin to europe to entice him.

first of all rjj is only two years older than jc.
second dawson is the next best fighter behind b hop and jc so he is the only option left, and dawson has not got time to prove anything as calzaghe is about to retire so the fight needs to happen soon.
the only other real option is johnson.

which is IMHO the fight he should take as johnson is more well know in the UK and would probbaly get joe a lilttle more money or at least cause dawson promoter to offer joe more money as he is the premire name in that division.

I agree, the Road Warrior is more known in the UK after his fights with Clinton Woods. I'd prefer to see Joe fight Glen in all honesty. He clearly isn't shot and he can't be called green if he were to lose the fight.
Although I think Dawson would be a tougher fight for Joe as his handspeed and athletic ability would cause problems.

you've gotta respect Calzaghe if this fight happens he could easily have pulled a Mayweather and said he wasn't offered enough money.

absolutely , Dawson is the most dangerous fight out there but that is always the case with fighters. if joe is going to fight dawson he should be paid well and it should treated as an event for the part of the world in which he fights in. thats whay it hink dawson promoter should set up dawson's next fight to take place in wales or the uk and have it shown as a supporting fight to say some uk star. like for instance if they moved the Tarver rematch to say london to support Hay's next fight. and showed repaly and highlights of tarver beating woods to build up the fight.

Dawson is modest , isn't arrogant and is skilled i think the euro fans would take on rather quik as he genuinly like that. there no need for him to adjust his personality.

the bottom line is alot of people see thru his accomplishments as past due..he didnt fight jones or hopkins in their prime when he had a shot. it isnt by accident he shows up after theyve both been beaten. and it isnt by accident he claims he doesnt need to an up and comer because hes old and has the bigger name. im a boxing fan and what people like him and the de la hoyas and mayweathers and margaritos are doing is disgusting. you wanna be a boxer then you gotta fight PERIOD! holding out for the most money is doing nothing but crippling the sport. its every boxers excuse these days, "i only want big fights..stfu and fight. if you dont wanna fight anymore then retire and stay retired. dont hang around and clog up the lane like all these students of de la hoya are doing. if he doesnt wanna take a "dangerous fight" then move on...boxing is dangerous you morons..its like a running back only wanting to run plays where he isnt tackled or these chicken **** recievers who dont want routes over the middle..its insane

Dawson needs to come to Europe and get some exposure so that people will know who he is and that will make the fight appealing to JC.

If Calzaghe beats Dawson, everyone claiming him to be the next great thing will turn and say he was green, unproven, overhyped, etc.

They will point to his struggle against Johnson as evidence of this, and the fact that he chose to rematch Tarver (an opponent he beat easily) rather than rematch Johnson as evidence that he 'wasn't all that'.

Before the Hopkins fight, Calzaghe was being accused of fighting an old man. Ever since Hopkins beat Pavlik, all of a sudden, if Hopkins decides to actually fight, he beats Calzaghe in a rematch.

There are too many on this forum who will spin things to suit their agenda against Calzaghe, simple as that. These people need to understand that, despite the fact that they refer to themselves as 'boxing fans', Calzaghe is not obliged to please them by fighting Dawson.

Calzaghe isn't obligated to anyone but himself. He's made it very clear.

Simply put, we want to see Dawson clearly outpointed ,which Zaghe would aptly do, then we can see the top 25 ATG ride off into the sunset..
    Thats why....
