Your forgetting Mosley and Judah are about twice as active..However its true Cotto does take shots..and he answers much bigger..everytime..with greater numbers and power...you also ignore how effective Cottos jab is as it always creates the necessary opening regardless of the opponent
pbf will take away that jab and that left hook....judah is not more active than pbf especially not in the last half of the fight..you fail to realise pbf is hard to hit clean...and cotto's footwork is bad/slow..and he has no defense
Cotto's chin is weak and he gets hit way too much. Mayweather is the best + - fighter in the sport. Cotto will get destroyed. It's all good though, you arn't making these post because you like Cotto, it's because you dislike Mayweather. Considering you picked Mayweather to lose to Hatton yet criticize him for fighting Hatton. And you picking Cotto lose to Mosley, with the possibility of Cotto becoming hurt he'd have to low blow Mosley like he did against Judah :rofl
Well thats a bit silly mate..Cottos style is offensive based as opposed to PBF which is defensive...I think we can agree that it would be a great fight and both are masters of their particular style..aside from this it's the most necessary fight in boxing today the fact that both of us have credible arguments illustrates this along with the fact that both fighters are in their primes:good
eze..this is all abit saddening as I actually held your posts on here with some seriousness..To say either fighter destroys the other is abit laughable..even more laughable are the Hatton comparisons..their not even closeatsch I'm not taking anything away from PBF's ability and skill..I maybe pick abit at his resume mainly the first Castillo fight but I do respect him and his skills which is why I could see him beating Cotto just not as easily as I see Cotto beating Floyd..Peace:rasta
It's hard to debate with someone who flip flops. You picked Hatton to break some of Mayweathers ribs then critize him for figthing Hatton in the first place. Now Cotto would beat Floyd easier then Floyd would beat Cotto? Cotto is hit very very easily. Open to straight right hands (which Mosley hit him all night with). Mayweather is the best Plus Minus fighter in the sport. Mayweather beats Cotto WAY easier then Cotto beats Mayweather.
Yes i tend to flip flop I said I hoped Hatton broke a few ribs forgetting at the time that he's a wrestler..Honestly I gained more respect for Mayweather not only for the victory over Hatton but how it was won..Every fighter gets hit mate..somehow this appears as much more of a weakness because Cottos moving forward instead of being hit playing defense..Yes Cotto can be countered he also counters very well himself, while PBF is a master of distance and timing Cotto isnt to bad himself he's just not as graceful in his delivery
Allowing a slow Great Granpda Shane Mosley to land over 53% of his power punches is not a good thing.
Everyone should stop whining .... this is just like all the other pbf fights.. this fighter holds the key to pbf losing and he will finally crack the code. but this fighter it makes more sense than ever because of the timing of his rise... well theres no way to know till the fight happens
Cotto has incredible strength, so inside he should be able to dominate PBF, something Hatton couldnt do. Cotto has a jab and can box going backwards. He also goes to the body hard and is a natural lefty fighting orthodox. Cotto mentally will not implode, the mental aspects of Cotto game are usually overlooked. He has faced adversity in the ring, kept it together and shown the ability come back. Cotto thinks during his fights and can adapt and change tactics. He has good hand speed while also demonstrating the ability to handle fighters who posses elite speed. Miguel will walk through you if you dont have the power to keep him back. Cotto also doesnt just rush in, he negotiates his way in with the jab and combinations. He has an excellent Jab uppercut and left hook. Thrown sometimes in combo with the hook to body and upper to head. Finally he is at or reaching his prime. The confidence level his last two fights have given him are enormous. PBF feels the doors closing in on him with Cotto, Williams and Margarito the only ones really left, He knows it and well thats why he may not come back. The noose around his neck is tight. He has no more easy fights left. PBF is The best out there today, however Cotto and Williams offer the greatest Challenges to that status and until he faces those challenges, he and everyone else will be cheated out of seeing todays best fighter answer the call of greatness. Thats OK though not everyone can be a Duran a Leanord a Hearns Hagler or Benitez.
I'm sorry but Floyd Mayweather would beat Cotto worse than Hatton. It'd be a wide WIDE points UD, perhaps a total washout. What does Cotto have in his arsenal that Floyd hasn't proved he cant deal with? Infighting? Man Hatton tried to rough him up good, and he outhustled Hatton, he'd do just the same with Cotto. Aggression? Hatton is aggression personified, didn't do him much good really. He made Mayweather work hard, won a few rounds coz of it, but it wasn't enough to win the fight and it wont be enough for Cotto either. Bodypunching? Hatton again. You say that Cotto has more skills, which is true. He has a better jab, throws nice combinations, but do you think that having a good jab will be of any use against Floyd? No way. Oscar De La Hoya has a EVIL jab, one of the best I've ever seen, and did it win him the fight. If you take all the things that have caused Mayweather problems over the years, add them all up into one fighter, THEN you'd have someone who could beat Floyd. Maybe if you could get Hatton's aggression and force of will, mixed with De La Hoya's size and jab, mixed with Cotto's strength and punching power, and then add Judah's reflexes, you'd have a fighter that could beat floyd. The problem is THAT FIGHTER DOESNT EXIST!
I don't think Cotto can beat PBF unless, like its been mentioned earlier FLoyd really does take 2 years off. I just don't see him coming back the same if he decides to go that route. If it were to happen now I don't see Cotto winning, but I give him credit as a fighter. He deceptively fast and effective in what he does.
If your easy to hit MW will exploit that ..Cotto will defeiantly make it a very close fight ..He has the patience to make it so but in the end I see MW just beating Cotto on pts ..
