Why can Cotto beat PBF?

Cotto is so much better then Hatton. For one, he is a true Welter weight. People seem to forget that Luis Collazo beat Hatton back to Lt Welter. After that fight, Hatton himself said he wasn't cut out for the higher weight. He isn't as strong as people give him credit for, he isn't as tough and isn't as skilled. Out of the top 5 Welters, actually he wasn't in the top 5 welters when Floyd chose to fight him, but had he been he would've been the easiest choice for Floyd. A style matchup made in heaven for Floyd. A come forward pressure fighter with a questionable chin, who is smaller than him. Now on to Cotto.....

Did you see the shane fight? Some hand speed advantage Shane had huh? ummm No actually. Some superior boxing skills Shane had huh? Wrong again. Cotto proved to beat shane to the punch and box the smarter fight. He proved he could adjust his gameplan and still outbox Shane. That was Cotto's coming out party, although it was close actually a very close fight, we all saw that night what Cotto was made of. Don't forget he did that against the guy almost everyone was picking to be the guy to beat Mayweather, and the guy that dominated Collazo (who made Hatton look like ****). Cotto is a step up from Hatton, maybe two. So is Mosley.

Now, how he matches up with Floyd....
I still think Floyd would get the better of him if they are in close quarters, Floyd has underrated strength and is a genious at all aspects of the game....including dirty tactics and rough housing. He looks like a little kid, but you CAN NOT bully him or intimidate him, he's too strong mentally. So Cotto would have to box him. Scary thought. But giving their styles, he might have a shot. He wouldn't stop him. But he might win a decision. He would have to back him up...which is actually easy because Floyd likes to back up. But when he gets him up against the ropes, discipline has to keep him from over-commiting and getting too close. He has to box him like they are still in the middle of the ring. Combo off his jab still, and throw body punches from the outside. If he gets too close, he will jam his punches and Floyd will spin him and escape. Then the pattern continues. 'Floyd lands a few in the center....backs up....blocks a few....grabs.....spins..........escapes.....'

I think Floyd wins a UD, but Cotto definitely has a chance. Don't let the Hatton fight fool you, Floyd isn't god. He beat a guy who was previously exposed as NOT a Welterweight by self-admission.

 

Floyd's body is tearing down and Cotto is brutal. If Floyd injured his shoulder or his hands or something of the sort during the fight he will be easy pickings for a guy like Cotto. If not then its still an extremely close fight.

 

How did he do this? He signed to fight Zab when he was linear at 147.:deal Quit trying to discredit PBF. He's already made you look like a fool several times here.

 

Currently DLH is a non-entity fighting once a year and he looks old..Mosley made a comeback..which solidified his place as a legit contender..And to call Mosley a Great Grandpa may sound cute however he's still got it and gave the most credible champion at 147 a tough time..almost beat him...Now would PBF get as close to beating Cotto as Mosley??Not a chance...Hopefully we shall see:good

 

he is young and hungrier than floyd right now and i'm not sure if floyd can deal with his pressure and power
