Yes, that has occured to me, and thats why I would pick against him in a sport he doesn't participate in, a sport nobody has ever seen participate in, and a sport nobody on here has ever seen him train, and yet are willing to tell me how good he is based on.....well I don' know what the **** its based on if youve never seen him even practice it one single ****ing time in your life. "If"
****, I just saw Brock Lesnar take down and submit an Olympic medal winner in Judo. Brock Lesnar is the best Judoka in the world and you can never prove otherwise.
What youre saying has nothing to do with the price of cup of tea in china. All we are saying is if GSP trains he'll most likely beat Koscheck because he is stronger, faster, quicker, more explosive ..there is not one physical attribute that Koscheck has thats better than GSP. If GSP needs to learn the rules he can learn them..its not the rules thats hard, its the God given talents.. everyone can wrestle freestyle, what level depends mostly on God given talents. And who says GSP can beat Koscheck and hes the best in the world. Was Koscheck the best in the world?? Why are you talking about Brock Lesnar?? And yes if he submits a gold medalist in judo usin juji gatame or chokes him out ..then maybe I'll have to think twice that maybe he is better had he taken Judo.
No, some of you are saying that right now, today, with no wrestling matches to his name, that GSP beats Koscheck in wrestling. Wrestling is not just about god given talent, it is everybit the skill sport as anything else Matt Lindland - enough said. And the fact that there are different rules for MMA and Judo sure seem to bother you alot more than the fact that there are different rules for MMA and wrestling.
Ok Beebs. You are right. We have never seen GSP wrestle. You have never seen GSP wrestle. Have you seen the guys he trains with wrestle? Maybe you have, but maybe not. How do you know they can? Probably because you read on the internet that they were on the Olympic team and GSP has said in interviews that he trains with Olympic wrestlers. But I personally have never seen them wrestle. maybe they can't :think You haven't seen Kos wrestle GSP have you? In fact maybe you have never seen Kos wrestle at all....but maybe you have. I haven't, maybe all the interviews and what I read on the internet is hype? :nut Lets forget about what we haven't seen ok. :good This is what we have seen. Advantages wrestlers bring into the octogan: Takedowns, Takedown defense, control on the ground and resistance to being controlled on the ground. What Kos believed before the fight. What Hughes, Trigg and Sherk most likely believed also. His/Their wrestling background would prevent GSP from having the advantage on the ground and prevent him from taking them down and prevent him from stuffing their takedowns. They were wrong. Why? They had no idea how good GSP was at wrestling. He didn't have a great pedigree so they thought there was no way he could have the advantage in those areas. But he did. And afterward it was Kos that said HE had to work more on his wrestling. We have seen interviews with GSPs coach and training partners that put him on an olympic level in practice. GSP himself says he is very competitive with the Olympic wrestlers he trains with. But forget all that....because they are all lying right? With regards to Kos and GSP, everything we have seen leads to the belief that GSP could hold his own on a wrestling mat with Kos. :deal
blah blah blah, round and round it goes. Bring some evidence to the table. Kos has all kinds of honors and victories in wrestling and GSP doesn't. Again what you see in MMA grappling is probably 10% of the folkstyle/freestyle wrestling that must be well transitioned INTO from striking/BJJ. Everything we have seen says that GSP is a fantastic athlete and a great MMA fighter. You guys keep thinking that fast running back---> good sprinter is the same thing as good takedowns/takedown defense in MMA ----> good wrestler. It doesn't work that way. Theres a huge chuck of wrestling missing in MMA. To be honest I'm tired of arguing this because you are blatantly wrong and hardly know what you're talking about(can't even keep the facts straight). You guys have fun, cause i had my laugh
I was arguing earlier that GSP had a shot, but I gave up that argument. My last post was simply about the condescending tone some people gave his training regimen with Canadian olympians and rashad evans. To say they are going easy on him because it is just practice isnt genuine. That's all. Arguing your point is fine, but dont cite BS that has no place in the argument. To say he got the better of so and so in sparring, and then to say "yeah but it doesnt matter because they definitely went easy on him and LET him get the better of them" is totally BS is all.
On this thread alone. GSP, his coaches and his training partners have all been insulted as liars and discredited by being accused of trying to promote a fight. Rashad Evans has been written off as a nobody in the world of wrestling. I've been put in my place as an ignorant and ridiculous kid who has never had anything to do with any combat sport whatsoever :nut But once again we have all been reminded that Widdowmaker, the resident Al Bundy, used to wrestle in highschoolatsch ****ing unbelievable :deal
:rofl Don't be mad 'cause I made a joke about your "highschool wrestling" accomplishments. I've always thought you were a good poster and used to love when you put Radar in his fat, canadian place :good But you are a stubborn *****, and refuse to give in even the slightest bit on issues. :deal :yep
That isn't true at all. The secret is... don't make a serious stand on something unless you know that you are correct. I don't run around this site arguing about things for the hell of it. I only take a serious stand on an issue, when I know what I am talking about. There is no need for me to budge on this issue, because it is that cut and dry. No worries... I don't hold message board grudges. If everyone always agreed with me on this site, there wouldn't be any point in posting. No need to attack my character though... and sorry if I came off as doing that to you.
Well they say Kos is more athletic and a better wrestler.....but still managed to lose a fight that was mostly on the ground the whole time:huh GSP used his speed and strength and wrestling ability but it's weird how that could happen.....oh yeah it's because GSP is a better MMA fighter...that's why:good
