**** yeah GSP cannot wrestle with Kos..**** Kos is 5 time NCAA champ. He cannot be taken down and can take you down at will. Ohh I forgot its MMA, Kos isnt use to striking setting up a takedown nor preventing it. As we saw..that fight was ****ing explosive standing up. Kos was getting tagged so much he forgot to prevent a takedown

He's been an MMA fighter for about 4 years. If that's the case, he's one slow ass learner. Also, he got taken down at the beginning of the fight, prior to anyone attempting any kind of dangerous strike.

I don't really care about the argument anymore but show me where exactly someone said Kos is more athletic than GSP? Please don't put words in peoples mouths. It's one of many signs of being stomped in an argument :good.

Well how do you explain a great wrestler like Kos get taken down by GSP? If you put a wrestler on their back..isnt that a score?

I guess Rampage could make the olympics in wrestling too.

    Along with Bustamante.

    And Ninja.

Mikey Burnett also won the wrestling in his fight against Olympic Silver Medalist Townsend Saunders, I believe that Mikey was awared a gold medal outright for this accomplishment.

It's very hard to understand

GSP holds all the physical advantages it seems.
GSP has proven to be very smart and an extremely fast learner...evidenced by how quickly he picked up a much more complex sport in MMA.
There are interviews and reports that put him on a competitive level in practice with Olympic wrestlers.
He proved he is better at utilizing his wrestling skills in MMA then Kos, Hughes, Trigg and Sherk.

I see all the above and find it very hard to believe that he wouldn't have a shot at beating Kos in wrestling.

I understand and have had the opposing points drilled into me for about a week, but it's just not convincing. But like I said to Ufaloafafof in the other thread. lets just put it behind us and move on :good

Beebs, out of all the bull**** in this thread....yours stinks the worst. And your usually a good poster. Earlier you claimed that GSP would have no reason to train in pinning combinations. Then were countered and obviously shrivelled up and realized you were wrong

Now you pasting this garbage on here. If Burnett, Ninja, Bustamante or Rampage trained with Olympic wrestlers, was consistently dominating...not just competing, but dominating all the top wrestlers in their respective divisions and had the backing of their coaches and Olympic training partners claiming they could have a very good shot at making the Olympic team......sure as horse**** I would start to consider it a possibility :deal

Whatever WIDDOW. Submission ****ING grappling is recognized by FILA (which you should know about, being such a wrestling expert) as a form of wrestling, which is absolutely 100% true, but I let it slide.

Speaking of submission grappling, I'd love to see that in the Olympics.

Are you going to be ok? Seems like you have a lot of internal issues. Sure as hell doesn't have anything to do with our conversation on GSP vs KOS in a wrestling match. We discussed this before, didn't we? When discussing "Wrestling", you are discussing one of the traditional forms of wrestling. When discussion "Submission Grappling", then you are discussing a hybrid sport, that is nothing like any traditional wrestling, other than the fact that there isn't any striking.

Besides, GSP has competed in two Submission Grappling matches, and went 1-1. So, not only does that have nothing to do with a wrestling match... he was average at it. Does this help your argument?

I can't believe that this thread is still going on. What. The. ****.

This just in guys: Takedowns and ground control don't have to be wrestling related just because that's how SOME people learn them. You can take any trip and throw you see in an MMA match and call it a judo move but they teach that stuff in a million different martial arts and sports and it's invented over and over again by kids on playgrounds all the damned time. Why is everyone so surprised that a guy who learned to do take downs in wrestling and a guy who learned to do them in MMA could be at the same level in an MMA match? Why is this news?

For all his Al Bundying and "I'm an expert--trust me" crap, widdow's point is clearly right. Gabe Gonzaga knocked Cro Cop out with a head kick in an MMA match; does anyone seriously think that means he'd do the same thing in a kickboxing match? Of course not. More importantly though, WHY THE **** DOES IT MATTER????!!!!! They're MMA fighters now, and gone are the days where this was about "who wins a tae kwon do fighter or a karate fighter". It's who can use everything together most effectively and that's what GSP does better than Kos. That can be true without this childish superman crap about him being able to do EVERYTHING better than Kos regardless of the rules.

Are you comparing Gonzagas lucky kick on Crocop to GSPs taking down and stuffing of Koscheck? lol
