Why can't Ezzard Charles beat Foreman when Jimmy Young did?

I mean he could find a way to win. Charles was a very well rounded cagey guy and Foreman hated guys like that throughout his career.

I guess similar to the Holyfield thread, the question would be would Charles stick to the game plan and not mix things up? I'm not confident that he would. Young fought a very cautious fight from start to finish and would only open up to counter or pester Foreman and then retreat or clinch. Charles had more than enough ring IQ to do this but he was both more aggressive and smaller than Young. Lots of factors to consider.

I think there's much more of a precedent for Charles doing it than there is Holyfield. He could fight extremely cautiously. It actually may be a case of Charles not being aggressive enough IMO.

So long as he doesn't hurt Foreman, and I doubt he would, I see no reason to think that he'd mix it up.

Foreman's mind wasn't the same after the Ali fight.
