Well thank god most others do.

Big difference between going out there trying to win, and going out there and then trying to survive.

That has gotta be the most ******ed post ive ever read.

So you're telling me Hatton quit by continously advancing forward and trying to make Pac work? Even when he was hurt he still tried to press Manny and make a fight out of it.

He quit by doing exactly what he knew would cause a KO for Manny. This is why the fight sticks with him more than the Floyd fight.

You guys trying to talk some sense into SweethomeBama are wasting your time. He's a lounge lizard, thinks he knows a thing or two about boxing. As evident, he doesn't.

this makes no sense man, its like telling a guy with a bad cough that he has pleuritis while he most likely has a cold.

The key to life is staying down, playing possum let the most powerful person step on you grab their ankle and transfer power to be stronger than before you went down.

There was a lot of talk in the build up, Pacquiao was coming up and Hatton was king of that division, so there's that. There's the belief he could beat him and a lot of people shared that sentiment, but there was also the fact that Hatton was saying **** like "bet the house on it" and after being so disappointed in the Floyd fight, he wanted to prove himself against Pacquiao but he got absolutely wiped out.

I can't imagine how hard it is to be the best in the world in a division, get a chance at redemption and promise victory to all your adoring fans and get absolutely wiped out. At least, and maybe this isn't actually a good thing, but at least he still believes he could win that fight rather than Pacquiao was much too good for him. But maybe that's even worse, I don't know. Maybe that's why he couldn't or can't let it go.

hatto had too much adulation from us brits. it made him believe he was better than what he was. he got used to being the top man.... so when he lost in such dramatic fasion it crushed him. he went from being a national hero to just another pacman victim. it ruined him for a year or so..... but it was genuine, he really was suicidal.

maybe it's an over reaction but it does happen to some sportsmen. must be pretty hard to lose everything you worked for.

Well b/c he got knocked down 2 times in the 1st round, with the 1st knockdown being the "same move every time" he so infamously stated he knew Pac's gameplan .... and secondly, well ....................................

A knockout of this matter is very challenging to overcome. Cocaine/alcohol rumors aside ...... This type of KO (esp. after Floyd clocked him) could end a career and it did. I think the combination of these 2 knockouts plus the fact that he realized he wasn't able to beat the top fighters led to his mental destruction.

Hopefully he continues to get back on the right track and gets his life together.
