If they want to make these young fighters stars they need to go after a REAL network TV deal and put fights people want to see out there for free. This is how you build your brand. This is why UFC is where it is "TV Deals". You cant just survive on PPV, HBO and Showtime. You have to attract the casual fan. Hook them with good free fights and then they will purchase your product on PPV, HBO & Showtime. The HW division is the money division and it is heating up now. I feel they are letting a good chance slip away. The sport also needs a major push for unification. "TV is the best way to build young stars".

The same reason K2 can't make GGG a star, It takes time. But if Wilder had beat Vitali it would of helped

Nailed it. The guy looks like garbage. And Haymon can buy all the nyc subway posters he likes (they were everywhere) he can have showtime shill for the guy all month long and praise his pedestrian ability during a fight. The public is much smarter today. They know a fraud when they see it. Not hard to YouTube Holyfield, Wlad, Tyson etc. And clearly see this guy is 2 levels below

In 5 years Wilder will be changing tires at Pep Boys in Alabama. Maybe you can get an autograph then.

Haymon's done well to keep such an obviously mediocre boxer undefeated through 3 WBC 'world championship' defences.
It's a bit too much to expect him to make him a star when they are still fighting bums.
He probably will be a star if they match him with one of the top fighters, but then they really have to HOPE that he wins or make sure they cash him in for the biggest possible payday.

The thing with Wilder is this, I could actually see him defeating Fury. I wouldn't bet on it but it wouldn't surprise me either. I saw Fury up close and I'm not sold on him. Plus I think Wilder would beat Martin. So Haymon has a fighter that could conceivably unify the division while at same time not be that great. Because right now I don't think Wilder would even beat Parker. I think there is better talent among the fighters that don't have belts at the moment. Either way Wilder/Haymon will have to get past Povetkin. I don't think he will. I favor Povektin pretty strongly to win by stoppage

    germany population 80 million
wlads viewing figures 10 million germany alone
1 in 8 germans watched wlad fight

    usa population 310 million
    wilder viewing figures 500k

    309,500,000 did not watch deontay

personally i would prefer deontays style , but wlad cleared out the division / deontay is clearing out the top 40 to 50

usa fans need to perceive a threat to get intrested and deontay has been 30 to 1 on for 35 of his fights the winner known before a punch is landed.

In 5 years DW will be undisputed and undefeated while making large paydays ??? I hope you're right but I see too much competition right now for anyone to claim the undisputed HW chamo. If anyone could accomplish that, for me that would be Joshua.

Staying undefeated is very unrealistic because all the top hw contenders. I don't think anyone could beat all the top contenders out there.

That is unless once one becomes undisputed, he can have voluntary defenses without being stripped. Supposed to have 18 months for mandatory, I guess anything is possible
