    Vitali retired a year later.

Technically Lewis retired Vitali as well.

Since Vitali was in his prime when he 'retired'.

Tko 6.. But everybody knows a rematch should have taken place. At ths end of the day Lewis knows his health is more important.

Who is more classless? The guy who is honest about Ali or the guy who wants more boxers to set there chest on fire when practicing for the Olympic torch?

If Vitali couldnt get the job done the first time he doesnt deserve a second shot. Lennox had just finished the greatest era ever where Americans and Eastern Euros AND British HWs all had elite fighters. He doesnt have time to give rematch after rematch until he is old enough and brain dead enough for Vitali to win a match.

They Fought. Lennox won. Deal with it!

A rematch would have resulted in a Lewis KO. And the Klithsckos will now be crying Lewis retired to 'duck Wladimir' and Vitali was the '**** brother'

If Lewis had knocked out Wladimir, the Klittards will say he was too 'young' at the time and this current version will beat Lennox.

They always always have a excuse ready.

Why the Hell should an old man give a young champion a rematch after he ripped out the young champion's ****ing eye.

Vitali was ****ing coward that quit against a god damn middleweight. He was gonna quit again, but the doctors stopped it.

The dude was crying when some tear gas got into him. lmao. He's a fraud and will end up broke and most likely dead if he keep trying to change the Ukrainian ways.

Allow me to throw this in there for the idiotic klitschko nuthuggers, lewis should have retired after tyson vitali should be gratefull he got to share the ring with a living legend, win some lose some and vitali lost some that night.
Reality is had this fight happened anywhere else vk would not have made it to the 6th round that cut was bad enough to stop it as soon as it happened, vitali was given every opporttunity to win the title and he just couldnt his face ended up more and more shreded as each round went by.
Here is a bit of proof that lewis owed vitali nothing, not only did he fight him and beat him with in the rules, but when vitali turned pro, lewis was already on his way to a 2nd world title.....
Thats all you really need to know, vitali in his prime at his best could not beat an aged lewis who clearly was not at his best.
    Give it up already.

Lewis' concern for Vitali Klitschko's eyelid and then waiting until after the Vitali Klitschko-Corrie Sanders fight tells me a lot about Lewis' confidence level. Also Lewis' prefight refusal of playing a game of chess vs Vitali gave me a hint as well.

I'll address your question in two short parts.

Lewis retired. it's not like he ducked Vitali to fight a different fighter, he stopped fighting all together.

You might also say he owed a rematch and got lucky by winning by TKO after losing 4 rounds, but lets look at Bailey vs Jones, Jones beat him pretty much every moment of that fight, gets caught twice and the result is him being KO'd, does Jones deserve a rematch? If your answer is no, your a hypocrite. A legit stoppage is a legit stoppage.
