Why can't Martinez step up to face Ward? Why is it always on Floyd?

Kinda embarrassing how everyone is always having a pop at Floyd.

Floyd is a natural WW, Martinez is a middleweight. Why can't Sergio step up to face Ward?

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't wanna see a 37 year old Martinez boil down to 150 in some catch weight bull****.

If Floyd doesnt want to face Martinez, I don't see it as a duck.

Martinez can still make that weight and be healthy.

Martinez has legs ,is agile, has good pop in both hands and is constantly jabbing.Floyd don't want it.

It's like when Paul Williams was calling Mayweather out, if you want to be seen as a viable opponent then move down and do something at that weight first.

Instead of moving down and chasing Cotto and Canelo he's been fighting the likes of Barker and Macklin.

 

He has a strong enough case to call out Floyd at 154. the fans want to see it.

 

It's simple. Neither can duck the other, as they're in separate weight classes and have zero obligation to face one another.

It's in Mayweather's best interests not to fight a top-notch bigger man at this stage in his career.

It's in Martinez's best interests not to call out Ward, but to go after the biggest payday he actually has a good chance of winning in, at this stage in his career. Because if he actually baits Mayweather into taking the fight, it's worth more than possibly his entire career of fights put together, financially. And if he doesn't, he's still doing his profile a service by keeping his name attached to the most well-regarded pro in the sport with one of the highest profiles and the biggest earning potential. Calling out Mayweather is a can't miss benefit whether he gets the fight or not. He'd be simple not to.

Floyd went up and fought the smallest jmw in the division in Cotto. Now people want him to fight a MW. God you dudes are stupid.

Fight at 150, Floyd taxes that ass.

 

So what happens if he gets whooped by Ward, who is much bigger, he gets **** for beating a bloated old man who has never fought in that division...

You thread displays your ignorance. Floyd is considered p4p best in the world, and he is close enough to Sergio's weight for them to fight, so why the **** would it make any sense for a small middleweight to move up and fight a much larger SMW at a weight class he has never been in, when he could easily cut to 154 where Floyd holds a title, and give boxing fans a very requested match..

In my opinion, Floyd and Sergio are top 2 in the world, ad Sergio is just as great in his old age as ever. This fight generates a lot of money, and we see 2 top 5 p4p go at it.

Sergio will take a drug test, will drop to LMW, and will let Floyd have his fair share of the money. Floyd has no reason to avoid him, and you Floyd dickriders have no reason to not want this fight... Unless, you're genuinely scared Floyd will lose.

 

Martinez has fought at WW, JMW, and MW and is now 37 years old. He really shouldn't have to make too many compromises in my opinion.

Anyway, I'd love to see him fight Ward at 168. If Martinez wants to do it, great! If not, that shouldn't be a big deal either.

Mayweather vs. Martinez at 154, who wins?

at a catchweight of 157, who wins?

Martinez vs. Mayweather at 160, who wins?

 

Too risky and the money/attention won't be as big as it would fighting Mayweather. Martinez is 37 years old, do you honestly expect him to move up and pursue a fight like that at this stage of his career?, Martinez needs big money fights now, 1-2 maximum then retire.
