As long as you don't get reckless by trying to walking down Manny, then he won't be able to fight backing up[He cannot do it unless you're a slow punching bag like Margarito]. If you get reckless like Margarito and start walking in head first, then Manny will catch you up with right hooks. Floyd use intelligent pressure; he's very patient and precise with his punches.

What they seem to overlook is that Floyd will only move by the pace his opponents constantly move. Those guys mainly focus on Floyd planting his feet and not constantly pivoting/circling around the ring, but they seem to totally ignore how his opponents are moving as well. When Floyd makes adjustments, he doesn't just adjusts to how you're throwing your punches at him, he'll adjusts to your movement as well. Mosley and Ortiz didn't used much constant pivoting movements around the ring, and Floyd simply adapted to the way they approached him.

If you start by pivoting around the ring to find the right angles to hit Floyd, then he'll adjust to your movement and constantly turning as long as you're doing the same. Manny is going to have to use good footspeed against Floyd, and Floyd will adjusts to the way he rotates/circling around the ring. People pay way too much attention to the Ortiz fight because Ortiz doesn't use much pivoting movement at all. If your opponent start the fight by rotating around you, then you're going to have to keep up with him by adapting to his movement.

Floyd Sr said it best: "You only move when you have to move."

Who said he couldn't fight in the pocket. If he had to I'm sure he could, but if he don't then why do it?

He did the same thing in the Mitchell fight. When Mitchell was constantly pivoted/circling around the ring, Floyd adapted to his movement and constantly turned with him. These guys are just giving themselves false hope that Floyd isn't versatile enough to adapt to Manny's movement.

There wasn't much constant pivoting movements when they was in the center of the ring. Morales adapted to how Manny approached him. When Manny planted his feet, Morales stood there with him at long range. When Manny pivoted/circled around, Morales constantly turned with him. It's very basic Boxing 101.

Floyd by KO in 7 or 8...He can fight Pac just about any way he wants and he'll knock him..

Floyd will be able to fight in the pocket OR on the move.

no doubt in my mind may vs pac will be good fight but i hate when people talk of mayweather's AMAZING footwork.... what footwork taking a step back or little jumps because those days are long gone. marquez has REAL footwork that produces results he side steps, pivots, takes a half step in any direction when needed. mayweather nowadays stands and ducks down while shoulder rolling... im not saying he couldnt fight and play with manny just that in all reality he is not the same mayweather of 5-10 years ago and manny could pull the upset if he catches him like ortiz did in corners

Morales is fighting flat footed with his lead foot planted firmly in the ground. More like floyd less like marquez. Counter punchers with lead rights. How the right hand gets there is immaterial.
