I dont know and it bothers me, this is a topic that always bugs me. Why cant fight purses be divided according to fight results always. Its not fair to any fighter. For example lets say to anonymous boxers fight. They both give their all, the one that wins the fight gets the lowest amount and the loser who is the more recognized fighter gets almost the triple of the amount the other one had. I dont get it really if they cold just do it that way winner gets 60 and the loser gets 40 i mean they are both fighting in the same fight. If they did it that way im sure all the bs of not doing fights because of that stupid stuff we could get even more of the fights we want and should happen.

I dont know if this has been talked about in ESB, of it has well ooops sorry. peace.:bbb

I think they should have an award money for the winner much like they do it in ufc. In a championship fight each fighter earn at least 100K and the winner get the 50k bonus.

of course in boxing we'll be talking about millions so let just say floyd vs marquez should each get 10 million and the winner gets extra 5 million. You know fighters would fight and train harder if they know they get extra money for winning the fight.

That's 5 million less for the promoters.

Ultimately they're the ones who get the extra coin.

If you think boxing is corrupt now think of how bad it would be if the judges could simply award the money to one of the fighters.

Boxing like all spectatar sports are enertainment. Which means that they are not just being paid for their preforemance. They ar being paid for their draw as well. A big name fighter who is going to put people in the seats and get people to buy the PPV has more vaule than his opoent if he can not draw as many people. This is a fair system. That being said I think the split should be made afte the fight and the winner should be rewarded. However what happens if the oficial winner is not the winner in the public's view it has been known to happen in boxing?

I get your point i dont deny that some fighters draw more attention than others but what if the one that draws the attention and everyone is expecting him to win should loose to the other fighter, shouldnt the other fighter get the recognition he desrves in this case his well earned paycheck. Its true that that sometimes the one that one doesnt get the decision wich totally blows, we the people should be the judges. Anyways thanx for replying

well, its not really fair to the fighter that is bringing 80% of the money to the table (meaning because of HIM, people are buying the tickets, ppv's, ect) and yet he doesnt get to get the lions share of the money earned....

that being said... i think there should be bonus money that goes to the winner, say... 25% of the earnings will go to the winner, the rest is split like normal.

But really.... it is indeed fair that the person bringing IN the money, gets the majority of it, regardless of outcome.

That fighters paycheck will usually come in the fact that he will get paid more in his next fight. Then if he wins that one in impressive fashion, his next paycheck will be a little higher, if he starts bringing in fans, a little higher, ect, ect.... until its a snowball effect. doesnt always work like that, granted.

But the guy thats bringing in the money, should be the one that gets the majority of it.

If i see it that way its a good choice, its way better than the standard being used now. Its so sad that they dont understand that things like this its what makes the sport look bad . Still luv it anyhow.
