I believe most of us wants to see Ward and Dawson going at it. Both are excellent fighters, and I am curious to see if Wards mental strength and boxing skill can outweight Dawsons natural talent.

Unfortunately, Dawson made a mistake when he said he could make weight as a SMW. Since then, Ward cant mention Dawson without stressing that Dawson must live up to his word and move down in weight. If the journalist asks why Ward cant move up Wards gets a haunted gleam in his eye and replies that "We will se if the fight can get made".

Dawson would be slightly drained at SMW, and I cant see why Ward is unable to move up and BEAT THE MAN AT HIS OWN WEIGHT. Like Calzaghe did when he moved up to LHW and challenged old man Hopkins. Andre "Comfort zone" Ward is just to keen to get an unfair advantage when he sees the opportunity, and that is not the path to greatness. IMO he must face his demons and fight Dawson at LHW.

Most of us want to see Ward v Bute.

Ward is best proving himself to be the numero uno at SMW first, then go up in weight.

The real question is why did Dawson say he could make 168 with no issues at all?

    he is losing momentum

he needs to expand the star power, needs to call out Bute and make it happen and deliver

he just willingly surrendered a belt to a guy he would out class

    Wards becoming irrelevant

I don't think you want to drag Calzaghe into this. Calzaghe was a hell of a fighter, but look who he was fighting at 28 and look who Ward is fighting. It's a huge difference.

Why can't we appreciate a fighter who stays in shape to fight top guys in an already loaded division? Especially win his opponent (Dawson) clearly stated he is more than willing to move down to fight Ward.

Ward is in his prime and in comfortable shape at 168. He doesn't NEED to pack on muscle that can be hard to lose, to fight at LWH before his body is ready to. Eventually, as he gets older, he may outgrow 168 and more naturally move up. But for now, he's 168, in a loaded division and should stay there. Especially if the guy (Dawson) a LHW is the one calling him out at 168.

Fans these days simply want fights to keep jumping weight. For these guys, it's not the way WE gain weight (cookies, Taco Bell), it's gaining and losing the right way. When you're in tip top shape at 168, making weight is that much more crucial.

Ward's best win is headbutting a double vision past prime Kessler to a TD, that Calzaghe beat years ago in a fair fight.

What?! How daaare you question Calzaghes eagerness to challenge himself? Hopkins was the man at LHW and Jones was not that far from his prime, so there.

Seriously now, if Ward gets it on with Dawson he has pretty muched proved himself (again). But I would rather see the fight at LHW. Dawson needs to be at his best to make it a good fight.

Maybe cause he's not stupid enough and unless the payday is worth cause these are professional athletes that risk their healths and future earning for one fight, alright?
