Yeah and now Ward is talking of fighting Dawson whos biggest win is Hopkins who you call a senior citizen when Calzaghe beat him years before.
How is SMW so solid, after Bute who else is there? Steiglitz maybe

:patsch Wards best win is Kessler when unwell and Calzaghe beat him when at the end of his career when Kessler was undefeated.
Calzaghes win over Eubank is better than anything on Wards resume.
Calzaghes win over Lacy is arguably better than a 34 year old Froch who was coming off a MD over a SMW journeyman.
Calzaghes victory over Reid, Woodhall and Mitchell are better in my opinion than a victory over Froch and Calzaghe also has the victories over Veit and Brewer who were also SMW champs at some point.
Wards other big win is Bika and guess what... Calzaghe beat him years previously also .
Calzaghes win over Sheika was a better win than Wards win over Green

No he doesnt dummy. Thing is you cant even back up your statements which shows how limited your knowledge is on the subject.
By that age Calzaghe had a far greater resume than Ward. Calzaghe had beaten Eubank a far greater win than anything Ward has plus Calzaghe had beaten top ten rated Reid a former champ who looked unlucky years later against Ottke and who beat current WBA int champ Magee, top 10 rated Sheika who was a better win than Green, top 10 rated Starie, Woodhall who was a top 10 SMW and former champ and Veit who would go on to be a SMW world champ.
    Ward fights Calzaghes leftovers

Hold your horses. Everyone just hold your horses.

Ward doesn't need to move up, not for years. He's only 28 and there's still work to be done at 168. Forget this weight-jumping ****. He should cleanup and create his legacy like Calzaghe and Hopkins, then move up and thrash the 175lb champion.

He doesn't need Dawson. Who is Dawson? If this wannabe wants a shot at Ward he can move down to 168 and get the hell in line like he suggested himself.

    "Back of the queue, *****."

Solid? There are Bute and there are the Dirrell brothers who are unable to sort themselfes out, and Ward wont fight them anyway. Ward will probably have to move up and down in weight, or have others doing it, if he wants big fights.

If you stretch it you can say they are comparable. If Ward beats Bute and Dawson he will be ahead without it beeing debatable. The question right now is if Ward can make the fights without Super Six holding him in the hand all the way.

Calzaghe at 28 had a better resume than Ward does today.

Hopkins turned the fight down several years before.

I dont understand why people dont understand some stuff about Calzaghe.

1- Let's get real, the rankings of boxing are USA friendly. I dont think anyone can ignore this fact.
2- Everyone in here understand and agree that these guys are putting their healt on the line for entertainment, so the fact that he fought at home when he could pack football stadium is understandable even if it's not the best way to build a legacy.

So the guy fought at home, mostly European fighters. All of these fighters are probably underrated because as we know the rankings are US friendly. So I think the US boxing fans are underating Calzaghe. But at the same time, he did fought mostly at home, it's not the best way to build a legacy and so the European are probably overrating him too.

Right now Ward had what Calzaghe never had, the super 6. He could have lost in the tournament, but since he was considered a prospect, it wouldnt have been a bad thing. Aside from the super 6, for now Ward is doing about the same. He is fighting at home, he is fighting some of the best fighter, but some not so good too. Again, Ward being an American is helping in both rankings and recognition.

I understand your point, but there were three Europeand champs in the tournament. Ward fdefeated all of them. I dont think Ward can be called overrated.
