When Vitali retires the WBC is alot more likely to gift a Title shot for the vacant belt to Mexican Arreola. Jose Sulaiman looks out for his own.

If Volodymyr dropped his belts then all these losers like Haye, Povetkin, Arreola, Mitchell would have a belt (after some of them being gifted with Micthell or Arreola having to fight Rahman for a vacant belt), all of them avoiding a Klychko fight while their fanbases loudly assert how they would kick Klychko's ass if they were to fight (feeling safe to do so knowing they would never actually get into the ring against him) Just like Haye fans from 2008-2011 only x4 as worse and pathetic.

Before he signed to fight Mormeck he tried to fight Povetkin, Helenius, Fury, Arreola and they all turned Volodymyr down. Imagine how hard it would be if he had no belts or only RING.

Because Wlad doesn't think he is above the sport and respects it and it's rules as such.

    always the good poster Montero...BUT
Thompson ****ing sucks. Top 10 doesnt mean JACK these days (see Mormeck) He gave wlad a decent fight like 6 years ago but is like 41 years old now and hasnt done anything since but become slower than molasses.

If he ignored his mandatory some idiot would say he is ducking Thompson.

He is however willfully avoiding the #2 guy in his division and people never bring this up.

If Wlad vacates a belt we get another joke champion, people already rate Povetkin as the number 3 heavy because he has that fake WBA belt despite beating a shot Chagaev, struggling against an American journeyman and losing to Marco Huck

Whilst at welterweight the scene is like this

    Pac - WBO
    Mallignaggi - WBA
    IBF and WBC vacant

If Pac vacated then no one really cares, they till recognise him and floyd as the p4p champ

If Wlad or Vitali vacates then the IBF mandos fight for the belt and gets built up to be the next best thing in heavyweight boxing until the bubble bursts, much like what happened to seth mitchell

He'd have to drop one of the belts if he did that and he obviously doesn't want too. I don't want him to either, Wlad having almost all the major heavyweight belts gives us a real figurehead of the division, remember those dark days of Post Lewis but pre Wlad? Where the likes of Chris Byrd, John Ruiz, Hasim Rahman, Lamon Brewster, Oleg Maskaev etc all had completely unremarkable reigns with one of the belts and nobody as making any effort to put them together or stake any real claim to be the divisions champion. Mayweather and Pacquaio jump up and down weight classes picking juicy fights against this alphabet guy or the other but when was the last time put any effort into unifying titles and owning a division? They don't care about mandatories or getting stripped.

if anything, Wlad is keeping the list of heavyweight champs from looking like the middleweight division, which is a joke of all jokes

Same ready and willing excuse in every Klitchko fight nowadays it seems. As if no one else than current opponent would ever be ready to get half million and shot to the champ

However fighting mandatory is good reason as it own. Anyway he could do same as Sexy Sergio did and just defend his ring belt. But that would rule out some contenders as some of them would considerate to defend their bogus belts

Yes, this is what would happen if the Klitschkos vacated their belts, chainging those faces by Arreola, Povetkin, Haye and the like. Thank God they don't.

    no doubt man

he's a big guy...thats about it.... i'm just sick of his face already and his lack of activity and resume since the last fight which made him some kind of mandatory...but at the end of the day its not his fault, its boxings fault for giving him another shot....
