Why can't you admit that the Klitschko brothers would give Ali huge problems?

"Boxing fans" The only people on earth who still don't understand evolution. Isn't it hilarious how fans of every other sport realize that the athletes of today are greater than those from before? I am talking about EVERY SPORT!! World Records being shattered every year across the board... but not boxing. Oh no... the undersized fighters of the past were just all so much greater. Gullible as hell.

Victims of Ali.. guys like Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Sonny Liston, Ken Norton.. all of them would beat both Klitschkos. If the Klits fought in that era, they'd be journeymen.

Vitali lost to Byrd because of torn rotator cuff, was wining on all score cards
Vitali lost to Lewis, on a cut, winning on all score cards. I have yet to see anyone conclusively beat Vitali. That being said, a prime Ali would likely win a UD against a prime Vitali. Vitali's got an iron chin and I don't see an Ali KO. As much as I like Wlad, a prime Ali would TKO (6-8) Prime Wlad any day.

And in doing so, Vitali became the first heavyweight title holder to quit when he was miles ahead on the scorecards with only 3 rounds to go.

    Vitali is in elite company.

(over 250 of them). Just 1 from the 50s, 3 from the 60s, 5 from the 70s, everything else is 80s -present.
Athletes evolve folks. In 50 years Wlad and Vitali size heavyweights will be the average.

The size, strength, and talent of both Wlad and Vitali would have given Ali big problems.

What the picture doesn't show is that the 65-year-old Ali came back with a left hook following Wlad's jab and knocked Wlad out senseless.

The photography crew had to take 10 minutes to try to resuscitate Wlad.

Althougth i think wlad and vitali would cause ali problems i would be pretty confidnet ali could beat them.
In regards to your point about evolution boxing is differenty than alot of sports as weightclass plays a big part in this. A middleweight is still a middleweight however most heavyweights now are alot bigger than heavyweights of years gone by. The heavywieghts of the past were alot more skilled but guys like foreman who would be small to average now were seen as monsters. I think in the modern heavyweight game fighters would be more competative than people think with past fighters just due to size but guys like ali and larry holmes had enough size for this not to be a problem. I think it shows up more when you use people like marciano who are more simualr to lhw or cruiserweights.

Cos they wouldn't really, speed kills and Ali has the toughness to take their punches. Ali gives away 3" in in height which isn't too bad and probably has the same reach as Ali had very long reach anyways.

Don't leave out fundamentalist Christians and about 90% of people who claim they understand evolution. I believe it, but the hole goes way deeper than "survival of the fittest."

This is an old, tired topic. Bottom line, it's equally silly to assume that a modern fighter's access to exotic supplements and training regimes would have guaranteed him a win against a fighter from an earlier era. Of course boxing has evolved, but not to the degree of basketball or American football. And combat sports will always favor intangibles like heart, focus, and willpower more than any other sport on the planet.

Of course modern superheavyweights are the stiffest test to this position, but Ali wasn't exactly Ezz Charles size either.

Being huge is different from being a huge problem. The bigger they come...

A prime Ali is fast, has a great jab and is a great all round boxer. The Klits however just JAB and as soon as then start throwing hooks and uppercuts when their opponent is groggy. Dont get me wrong, i love the klits but theyre big and slow. the typical heavyweights.

Forget it man. Fight fans are very often quite delusional. Especially Americans, because it is a kind of sport for americans to glorify the past in HW boxing, when americans were meaningful.

Every boxing fan with a brain, knowledge and objectivity has to admit, that 21st century guys like Lennox or Klitschko would give all the former great HW´s the hell of a fight.

People who refuse to admit it rarely come with arguments, but with the usual narrow minded "BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!KILL HIM WITH THE:lol::lol::lol::patsch:patsch:patschSMILIES!!!!!! or like in this thread with the usual criss-cross comparisions (A beats B beats C). In reality the best argument, that someone has absolutely no clue about boxing. But dont tell them!
