One probable reason is because they know Lemieux has a very good chance at losing to Tureano Johnson (his mandatory). So, they'd rather face Golovkin now for big money where I loss wouldn't look as bad than losing to an upcoming fighter for little money.

Not saying that's the sole reason, but I'm sure it played a factor in their decision.

Lemieux, with his ambush style of fighting and good punching power, can give Bumlovekin some problems, IMO. It's much too bad that Lemieux isn't more defensively responsible.

David isn't an undefeated up and comer, he's a entertaining win some lose some knockout artist. They're gonna give him the Gatti treatment. Put him in some winnable ones and some that he may very well lose. As long as he performs well in some of the losses, with his power he has staying power.

GGG has been KOing and beating everyone. Does a loss really hurt Lemieux that bad? :huh

If he lasts longer than the last 3 or 4 guys it won't hurt him at all.

If he shows a good account of himself his stock can rise and with 4 belts out there he can win one again. You can't look at this fight with a glass half empty.

I'm glad these kind of moves are made, and I wish more did it. But it is a headscratcher as to why.

I agree. This fight is way to soon for Lemieux.

All the theories on why the fight is happening are relevant but not necessary because the fight is happening and I for one think that Lemieux has a chance to rock GGG's world. He is an improved fighter and can deliver the proper amount of force it takes. If he gets the shots that Monroe got then it's good night nurse for the G man.

You seriously think GGG is going to give Lemieux the same shots that he let feather fisted Monroe have? :rofl

Monroe posed no threat that is why GGG walked him down and made him Quit. I am not one of these that thinks GGG has an Iron Chin he hasn't proven that but he has shown a good Chin so far. He knew Monroe posed no threat and treated him as such I very seriously doubt he will be doing that with anyone else he faces.

You don't see the word give nowhere in my post. GGG didn't give Monroe the shots, contrary to what some believe.

Yeah, what I meant by that is Tureano Johnson is winning his next fight, so he will become his mandatory. Lol.

Also, I completely agree. I don't think the fight will go longer than six.

Monroe couldn't hurt him and GGG knew that. He isn't going to do that against Lemieux or anyone else. Monroe got obliterated then quit like a *****.
