Lemieux sincerely thinks that he can beat Golovkin, so I suspect that he insisted on the fight.

DLH may also hoping that even if Lemieux loses, he can inflict some damage leaving GGG is worse condition for Canelo fight.

Lemieux has nothing to lose he's taken 2 losses already, we all accept him to lose anyways, if he pulls it out somehow he'll become a huge star.

Exactly, and nobody else at middleweight can even be popular because GGG owns that division so much. So you can live in the shadow or play with fire.

This fight is pure fun - fireworks until david's face splits in two.

It's an awesome stay busy fight until Ward is backed into a corner and forced to take the fight.

It's nothing to GBP about lemieux. He's lost twice , clearly limited physically (top heavy midget) and will never be a superstar. He's getting paid to put on a great show and get emphatically stopped and go out on the shield.

    Everyone wins in this.

David Lemieux is coming in to win. GGG will be right there to hit.
I will take the odds all day long.

This was a great thread with many top notch contributions. One of the absolute best I can recall on here.

David is dangerous enough that I don't think three G can make this an early one sided land slide victory for himself. G I think will have to utilize more boxing than we're accustomed to seeing to ensure he does not get hit with a fight changing shot from David. Maybe G eventually gets him on accumulation after about 8 or 9 but David is not without his chances here, this should be a good fight. Think I'm gonna root for David for the hell of it, I like them about the same so why not go for the underdog.

So he has the career Bennie Briscoe or Mustafa Hamsho, poor him.
At least someone sees things the way I do.

He just won the title and now he is getting knocked out by Golovkin.........Lemieux is an exciting fighter with power, but Golovkin has too many skills for him and has huge power himself, with straighter punches...............

Lemieux has a shot at winning. Not a big shot, mind you, but he could do it.

'Cause he can still do the same after? Maybe the GGG fight will make him better/stronger?
    Ahem Lomachenko ahem.
