Business wise, it seems they are rushing David too fast. Though he wont get any better so why wait. His balance is very poor, his defense is nonexistent and he might have some weight problems in the near future...

One crazy conspiracy theory is that they want to clear some room for their real cash cow Canelo. GGG is probably only reason why Canelo hasn“t move to 160. Maybe they believe couple of hard fight will soften GGG and will give Canelo better chances when he finally moves up to 160. And not only GGG but Lemieux as well. IMO at moment, both would beat Canelo.

Golden Boy needs money.Yes,but he was soflty matched before, that's an error from matchmakers, witch probaly will cost him good future.I don't think he will recover from this defeat.Look what happened to Pianeta after Wlad fight.

They are trying so hard to make Canelo ppv star, for one fight they truly did it,but he will not become better in that sense fighting no hopers.

Thing what I like about Top Rank is that they are lookng out for their boxers future far more than Golden Boy.

They can rebuild Lemieux back up after losing to the undisputed number 1 in the division. Plenty of cash to made yet

It's really strange that there is a middleweight that does not duck GGG, isn't it? :huh

He's got an 8-year age advantage, and more fights than GGG, what would they be waiting for?

    I'm almost positive you're right.

From what I asked to Loeffler, there were several possible option for GGG IF he gave Cotto and Canelo his blessing.

BHOP is still in play as is ward if ROC and ward wants to play along.

I think Froch is also planning to be in attendance for this fight.

This is a power play by GBP.

Geale made a whole $350k for Cotto.
He made in excess of $500k for GGG.
    Kirkland made 500k for Canelo.
Monroe made the same against GGG.

    Who's the bigger name???

    Kirkland or Monroe???

Kirkland said before the Molina fight that he would fight Canelo for $1.5 mil, no less.

I suppose, after 2+ yrs and only 1 fight, Kirkland was more easy to make.

    Good post.

Looking back at Monroe's L to Boone, you can see he's got loads of heart.

The KDs he sustained in the GGG fight weren't slips. He was rocked to the core.
As for Geale. Sustaining a 4 minute 1st rd and getting tangled up and going down, now had he laid down then....yeah, quit job.

But he was fighting back when GGG shook him down.

I would call the Rubio fight more of a quit job than either Geale or Monroe.
Rubio is an iron chin warrior with 50 KOs, and never gets stopped. That fight could have continued.

Oscar and Lemieux are doing the fans a solid with this one. This fight will be entertaining, no matter how long it lasts.

Lemieux is in for some good paychecks after this fight, win or lose.

Lemieux hits like a mule and now he gets to taste some power from a cannon:deal

This will be fun but I don't see it going past 8.

David will fight until his body gives out or his corner waves this one off IMO:thumbsup

    Good fight.....can't wait:happy

He is a wrecking machine. And when he lands clean, off comes your head. GGG will definitely have his hands full .
