No your wasting cyberspace with these posts. Bring something to the table or sit back and let the adults talk :hey
Well then you can't really talk about the post as a whole if you don't read the whole explanation. Cya.
Damn Boricua's you got anyone that is gonna go into any detail about why your boy wins? I'm starting to feel sorry for you guys for how you will feel after the fight it seems your just going off blind allegiance
Damn In this thread I am like Cortes and the rest of you are slaughtered Aztecs c'mon Cotto fans :deal
this is what i think ....clottey will have his hands up in the turtle shell defense but i think cotto's punch input is going to be the factor i see cotto throwing a fair amount of punches to give the judges somthing to score ...cotto will be getting hit with some hard punches i give it to my boy UD:good
That's actually a terrific post aj415, but I've personally already acknoweldge Clottey has the style to give Cotto serious problems. The thing is that you've just described why Clottey's style is going to be difficult for Cotto to beat him. That doesn't mean that's how it's going to go, for example, what happens if Cotto is able to break Clottey's rythm with his superior jab? What if Cotto decides to attack the body when he's counter punching himself (remember, Clottey ain't the only counter puncher in this fight). I don't think Cotto will be making the same mistake of staying on the ropes, and if Cotto is moving well (and just enough, not over doing it) I doubt Clottey will really land his trademark uppercuts. Clottey walking him down also opens him up for Cotto counters, and there are other factors, but I'm about to head out. To sum up my point is that Clottey does have the style advantage, but great fighters are suposed to adjust, and if Cotto is the fighter many think he is, he will be able to do what he needs to do to beat Clottey. I personally haven't made an official pick because I want to make a good analysis, but I'll do it in summer when I have more time. Who knows, I might end up picking Clottey, but from what I have on my mind as of now I'm giving a slight edge to Cotto :good
See guys. Here is a post worth responding too, and it doesn't have to do with the props for the opening post (thanks for that). I'm glad you brought up the ability to adjust. That is one of Clottey's strongest points as a fighter, his proactive intelligence / improvisation in the ring. You can see him adjust in ring vs all his opponents, even his losing effort against Margarito where he had to cover his hand for injury and a round or two he tries boxing like Floyd Mayweather. Cotto I don't feel that is his strong suit, given the Margarito fight example. He relies more on his honed skill, speed and athleticism, and of course his mental discipline and fire as a fighter. But ability to adjust is not a big part of his repotoire.
