While I agree that his analysis is quite oversimplified, I think it's a much better indication of how the fight will progress than all of the exclamations about how Cotto is gonna "crush him with body shots!"
Yeah, you're WRONG!... Go watch Clottey - Felix Flores and see if that changes your mind. Bye now. :hi:
Guys like Margarito, Librado, this guys have poor defense and eat punches every fight. You can say he has a good chin, but better than Margarito? There's no evidence of that. But anyway this won't go anywhere so I'll stop.
You're right. It won't go anywhere. Especially since there is no evidence of the contrary either. margarito took a lot of punches in his day, but no one can say with any type of substantial certainty that he can take them better than Clottey until we actually see someone hurt him.
I dont think that Cotto has the power to hurt big WORLD class welterweights. Clottey is BIG and strong and has never been down. Clottey also isnt a plodder like I think Cotto fans would have us think. This is the wrong fight at the wrong time for Cotto. The last thing he needs is a guy that is going to walk though his shots and pound his body. There is a big difference between Clottey and Margo..One Clottey isnt going to follow Cotto around the way that Margo did, he is better at cutting off the ring. Clottey has better handspeed, so if Cotto was scared to throw to Margo's body I think he will also be slow to throw at Clottey's. Much Like Margo I dont think that cotto can or will hurt Clottey and like Margo Clottey will put mental pressure on Cotto. I dont like this fight, I really think that Arum is taking a huge risk with Cotto's career here. A lost to Clottey would be tough to come back from. Before the fight with Margo I would have picked Cotto, and even had Cotto had some fights to build his confidence back up I would pick him. I just have a feeling that Clottey will cause Cotto to have another mental meltdown.
Good post. Cotto looked psychologically scarred in his last fight. He needs to pound on a few tomato cans before getting back into the ring with a granite-chinned fighter with decent skills. I would have thought that Cintron was a good choice. Sure he has power, but he would not KO Cotto before Cotto was able to put him down.
cotto should watch for uppercuts, clottey want be that easy to hit to the body.hes strong and durable enough to go 12.cotto might get a nod but i think clottey will win the fight.hope he fights berto next.
Clottey aint fast enough, he dont punch hard enough, he dont work hard enough, he ain't got enough stamina, and he aint got the expereince to beat Cotto all in all, he just ain't good enough he's a good fighter but........it ends there i am 100 percent positive, that Cotto will take this, and make it look pretty easy....Clottey brings nothing to the table, that Cotto hasn't seen and dealt with before and i'm not even Puerto Rican, though i am a Cotto fan
not just becuase cotto is my boy i think his has the better hand speed not by much but slightley better. cotto UD:bbb
Clottey defo has all the assets to beat Cotto. He has the style, The Chin to absorb shot's, The welterweight Punch, size ect... But he will need to be on his absolute best & not let up once in the fight. Clottey must have no let downs and use pressure. Cotto will not be easy to beat with everything on the line that night. (More than just a belt...on the eve of the PR parade in NY) I look for Miguel to try & go for the kill early & test Clottey's D & maybe take a shot or 2 & see what Joshua has punchwise.. Then try & cruise by using his movement & boxing. can't wait.
Nobody is addressing it because nobody can be bothered to read your post because your points are mostly invalid. Cotto is a elite athlete. He will find gaps and he will hit them. The only way Clottey beats Cotto is with a high work rate, great stamina and solid chin. He has 1 of those 3.
