na...Clottey will get one of those African ritual dances that'll make him not only Cotto-proof, but he'll also magically gain epic power. I think the ritual has something to do with licking an elephants backside :deal

Will you give Cotto his proper due if he beats or KO's Clottey convincingly?

I certainly gave Williams his proper due after beating up a rusty but game Winky Wright. Very impressive performance and one I didnt expect at all.

What will Cotto have to do to earn your respect? If he beats Clottey convincingly, would this be enough to shut your hating ass up? :think

I get what you're saying, but Clottey has a very good defense and a solid chin. Notice the shot Baldo caught him with was a counter punch after Clottey got a bit careless. Cotto coming forward opens him up for counters as well. I think Cotto should mix it up, and his best shot at hurting Clottey is from a counter himself, not really an agressive approach, but like I said, all in all I think Cotto should give Clottey different looks and keep Clottey at bay from doing anything significant with his jab (a punch I think he should use more often, especially for this fight). :bbb

Cotto is one of the greatest fighters of all time. Look at the way he dismantled Jennings and Gomez in two of his last three fights(Cotto was putting on a master class boxing performance of the likes we haven't seen since prime Whitaker against Margo before the plaster dried and did him in). I don't care if it were prime Duran, Leonard, Hearns, or Lil Floyd were in there with Cotto, they would all get outboxed and stopped with bodyshots. The same will happen to Clottey. He will lose every second of every round before getting a kidney lacerated via a Cotto body shot in the 5th round. Anyone who disagrees is just a hater and can go **** themselves.:deal

Honestly, I already give him a lot of respect for even taking the Clottey fight. Clottey is not a confidence-builder for anyone. Despite what all the Cottoqueens are now saying, Clottey is no joke, and if he's motivated, will give Cotto more than he bargained for. He could have taken much easier fights. So anyone who really knows boxing would be a fool not to respect him, from that alone. :good

    ...Even a hater like me.

My problem with him has never been a lack of respect. I know he's a great fighter. It's the fact that he is so overrated by fans who think he can't bleed and die. I just wish his daddy Bob Arum would somehow find the nutz to let him in the ring with PW.

No I do not. I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto won, but I doubt he stops Clottey. Guys like Clottey normally don't get stopped until they're past it.
