I can't believe the flak Golovkin attracts; as a fighter he is top-shelf, and as a man he is respectful even of opponents that he has obliterated. People need to get a life.

 

a)Because he's a warrior and loves to fight?
b)Because fighting is how he pays his bills and he wants to fight as much as possible before he retires and earn as much money as he can?
c)Because he wants to build his fan base and be popular?
d)Because the big names in the sport won't get in the ring with him?
e)Because he knocks everyone out so quick that he feels he needs more rounds to stay fit?
f)Because HBO or his promoter asked him to?
g)Because he spent most of his life fighting every week in the amateurs and fighting four times a year is no big deal to him?
h)Because great middleweights like Ray Robinson fought ten times a year and he wants to be great like them?
i)Because he thinks that boxers who only fight once or twice a year are pussies?

When did I bring up race? WTF are you even talking about? Cotto is a MW champion, is he not? DEFENDING champion is he not? Guess what...he IS a middleweight. If he made easier work of a GGG opponent then he has no excuse not to fight GGG...right?

Hey, don't get me wrong either...Golovkin just turned 33, and if you say you're great and the guys in your division are scared, then he needs to make "big drama show" right now... so move up and fight a top 2 or 3 guy at 168. If he doesn't want to fight Ward at full 168, then he is telling the world that he thinks Ward is a threat. It's NOT a duck...but he's no damn Conan either.

 

Then he should hand over the belts and get the fvck out of the MW division... Because while he's holding two MW belts, guess what? He's a fvcking MW by definition.
