For the record: even "how come" (which is what people usually have in mind when they conflate it with the correct word, resulting in the linguistic Frankenstein's monster that is "why come") is considered poor grammatical form. It sounds pedestrian. Just say why.

The only time combining them (that is, "how" and "come") in an inquisitive context would be in a phrase like "how does it come about that.." or how did xyz come to pass..?"

This thread is only partly about Roll.

Thread is giving Golovkin crap for fighting Ndam at 164... as if Ndam hasnt fought above middleweight more than G has, as if every name fighter hasnt done similar type fights.

Ndam is a decent comeback fight for G and it being at 164 is practically meaningless.

Not to mention I've seen nothing saying that a catch weight for HNN (as opposed to just straight-up MW) is set in stone.

AFAIK the catch-weight proposed against Rolls was a compromise so he didn't have to boil to MW and GGG didn't have to jump all the way to 168. :nusenuse:

I don't know why people are upset over a potential GGG-HNN fight. At any point in the last 10 years, a fight between these two would have been one of the fights I looked forward to the most in a LONG time. The only shame -- IMO -- in this fight possibly happening next for both of them is that they are both clearly past their primes and they've both been in multiple gun fights by now. Not sure if they are the same age but I know they are close, they both came up through the AM's at the same time.

If GGG-HNN ends up being the next fight for both, I think too many people are going to unfairly sell HNN short in this one because his perceived lack of a chin. He doesn't have a great chin and never did, but he recuperates very fast and is dead game and very tough. He can bang, he's a freak athletically(even still), and he is the naturally bigger of the two. I think they are so evenly matched at this point in time in some areas and are at completely different ends of the spectrum in others that a fight between them would be an all out horror movie and would thrill from start to finish. HNN and Andy Lee are probably THE two fighters I always wanted to see face off with GGG that never did. Don't sell the French-Cameroonian short, if this happens: instant FOTY contender.

As for ****ing steve rolls. GTFOH. Why? Why not just call it a career? GGG retires with a better legacy if he chose to retire today rather than tuning up that guy and then retiring. Nobody wants to see that ****. At 37, with as distinguished a career as GGG has had, and as clear as it is that he is over the hill (not shot by any means but clearly past his best) I normally wouldn't be bothered by a guy looking for a few easy paydays before he kicks in his car keys. But Steve ****ing Rolls? Beat feet Borat.

If he fights Steve Rolls he deserves the backlash this time.

But please stop flooding the board with pointless GGG threads, just have your own personal one, you and IsaL can have a great time.

Probably the same reason Golovkin fans are obsessed with Canelo...

The problem here is ggg is almost at 40 years old he's not getting younger, he's just wasting his short time he's got left, buy the time he decides to face a top elite he will be 38 , I don't mind for top fighter's to cherry pick once in a while, example Canelo can cherry pick for 2 straight years and he will still be in his 30s this is not the case for ggg unless he just doesn't care about legacy anymore only about money...

I dont think GGG really ever cared about Legacy. He passed up on many careee defining fights. Always had an excuse.
