Because Usyk is high risk/low reward. If Povetkin beats Usyk, people will say "So, what, you beat a cruiserweight." If Povetkin loses, they will say "You lost to a smaller guy".

Also, the most important thing — there's no money in fighting Usyk. If not for Dazn (who are just spending for the future, at the moment) this fight in America would be completely unrealistic.

why should a 40 year old fight a dangerous contender? Povetkin will probably fight a bum or 2 and retire.

 You are predicting Usyk schools him, yet don't understand why Povetkin is reluctant to take it?
Povetkin just got KTFO and is knocking on 40. Let him take an interim fight. And it's not like Usyk is just any Cruiserweight. Dude is arguably the GOAT at 200lbs AND is a legitimate top 10 p4p boxer.

I'm guessing you haven't visited either country? This may be true politically but as citizens Russians and Ukrainians view each other as brothers and still do to this day. Don't get sucked in to the media hype

You can tell these heavyweights aren't as skilled as the lighter guys or even guys like Usyk. Povetkin backs away from the jab when he could parry that **** and come back with his own. Joshua looks pretty basic in there, and he is, the guy started boxing late.

The last great HW was Lewis. Maybe Wlad but he relied on his height and reach too much, never displayed the sweet science like Lennox did. Lewis, Bowe, Tyson, Holyfield, all those guys had skills in bunches.

Bicep size has very little to do with power.

There's probably about 10 lbs. between HVYT-Usyk and Round-faced Povetkin.
