I mean let's be frank - it's not a minor thing to go unbeaten your whole career while being a US killer. This includes many who went on to become world champions or who were world champions at the time. So what made Calzaghe completely unbeatable? :hi:
Fast hands and also choosing his opponents at the right time , i dont rate Calzaghe as an all time great, a good boxer and deserved world champion but i think his fights were choosen very carefully
More or less.^ As for the OP, I can't tell if this guy is actually just a guy without perspective, or a trojan horse looking to elicit criticism of Calzaghe.
Joe's win over a prime and hungry Mikael Kessler looks much better today than it used to. And that was a faded Joe, too. Basically, some people will simply refuse to ackowledge him whatever happens. Those who moan about him beating old timers like Hopkins (who proved afterwards he wasn't and isn't shot) and Jones would have been the 1st to complain if he didn't fight them.
Ok. Personally I don't think Joe was faded when he fought Kessler. He was in the midst of his best run of competition and had been looking good. I won't hold his performance in the Hopkins fight against him. Hopkins spoils everyone's game. And Hopkins definitely was not shot. He was old, and worn, but certainly not shot. It was a good win for Calzaghe. Jones had been done at the top level for some time. Meaningless win. But it let Calzaghe cash out on top.
