Why couldn't GGG KO Canelo in their two fights?

Why has no one knocked him out so far?

    Such a daft arbitrary question.

Because Canelo has a chin forged from the finest cattle in Guadalajara. That and Golovkin was 35-36. Younger Golovkin would have put some serious hurt on Canelo

Exactly, not to mention Jacobs looked about 180-190lbs fight night and still got dropped despite being somewhat on his bike. Its also worth mentioning that Jacobs also only took the fight after seeing the visible deterioration of Golovkin.

37 yo flu ridden GGG knocked down Chenko in the first round. A young healthy Golovkin would have done some terrible unspeakable things to Chenko

Nor could he stop Jacobs and Dereychenko because at the highest level it’s different. I suspect Canelo is more likely to score a knockout win over him.

To knockout Canelo you will need sophisticated skills which lower case g does not have.

Stupid thread. Because Canelo is an elite level fighter, just like GGG.

Only 4 of GGG's last 31 fights have gone the distance and 3 of those fights were against fighters who have never been stopped (Clenelo x 2 and Dev) and the other was against an opponent who has only been stopped once (Jacobs) and GGG was past his prime in all of those fights, and they were all in theirs, and he would've been giving away a significant weight advantage in at least three of them if not all of them

We can play this game with a lot of people's current favourites who have failed to register even a wobble against numerous old chinny washed fighters they're way naturally bigger and heavier than.

Why couldn't Spence stop Mikey, Danny or Porter? Mikey is a flabby blown up 135 pounder, Spence is a 154 pounder who is all sinew and muscle at the weight but he couldn't even wobble him.

Porter has been dropped by Broner, KO'd in 2 in the amateurs by a Cuban, dropped like a sack of potatoes also in the amateurs by Dominic Wade, dropped and stopped by Terry. Sure he has a good chin but Clenelo has never hit the canvas once in his life. You feel me?

Jemallo who weighed, at worst, the same as GGG when he was campaigning down at 154 on his leprechaun safari let alone now up at 160, is smack bang in the midst of his prime, and is considered a KO artist, but has been taken the distance by 4 of his last 5 opponents and the lone guy he did stop is a tiny little 154 pounder leprechaun, prime GGG sparks all of those guys out and even this way past it 40 y/o version of him would spark 4 of them. You feel me?

GGG's average fight night weight is and has been a very consistent 170 throughout his career and he's often the one giving away weight not the other way round and nor has he ever struggled to wobble or stop leprechauns from divisions below who naturally bigger than. If GGG was from across the pond he would've been campaigning down at 154 bare minimum.

He's never failed to put away any of the smaller fighters he's fought and there's not a single fighter in the sport with as many firsthand accounts from fellow pros, top contenders, world champions, elite fighters etc. waxing lyrical about their power like dozens of have about GGG, and many of them are SMWs-HWs. You feel me?

Go ask George Groves, Macklin, and Kell Brook about their broken bones and ask the many sparring partners of his why they opt to wear body armor when sparring him?

GGG's been flattening world class fighters for 20 odd years, amateurs, pros, and routinely in the gym too

Even Benavidez who has been a regular sparring partner of his for years, has sparred everyone and their nan's dog including Pavlik, Gvozdyk, Bivol, Zurdo, Peter Chocolate etc. among many others, maintains GGG is the hardest puncher he's ever shared a ring with, admitted GGG had lost a bit of that power and that was three years ago.

I saw The Cobra who was a very spiteful hitter in his own right crack Bute with a sickening array of flush power shots before the supposedly brittle-chinned Romanian inevitably wilted under the collective weight of them.

Good call, GGG had Canelo buzzed but never was able to follow up with a combination. Also about Golovkin's power, he's got heavy hands not the shocking type one punch power

And which fighter has those sophisticated skills to do that?

It's funny how all you black supremacist LDBC ****s hate GGG. Don't really get why.

Even funnier how you all only cheer for Canelo because you have some weird assumption that any time he wins it adds to Floyds legacy.

Not that I recall but I remember Miguel Cotto's brother badly hurting Canelo in the first round of their fight.

Punches you don’t see hurt you. Golovkin isn’t really a devastating one punch knockout guy, he gets knockouts by hiding the heavy punches. Canelo is too good defensively and sees punches too well. Golovkin always said it was timing and placement for him, he couldn’t time or place them against Canelo.

Golovkin can only punch coming forwards with his looping punches. That’s why Deverychenko stayed close and circled him to take away his power. Jacobs kept the distance. Canelo combined those, pushing Golovkin back when he was close and then staying out of range the rest of the time. Golovkin jabs in from range, Canelo didn’t mind getting jabbed as that was his cue to either get closer or move away. Fighters get hurt when Golovkin moves forwards after that first jab and they don’t move.

My opinion: Canelo has a great chin, so either you have to land consistent on him OR the only time he has really seemed to be affected by a shot was Jose Miguel Cotto. I don't think Canelo saw or anticipated the shot and it dazed him. Golovkins power shots are too slow and even if they land, Canelo sees it and braces for it. If GGG could catch him with a shot he didn't see or expect...it would be lights out Canelo.
