Against a much older and less active Briggs... Lewis shows how to finish off an overmatched opponent.

Briggs decided to take the beating and vitali's power is gone, his corner should have pulled him from the fight in 8 though there was no point going on vitali was giving him a beating that was not necesary.

A young Vitali would have done this to Briggs. But Vitali is not a young man any more

Probably because Briggs hardly threw anything and was on the defensive the whole fight whereas in the Lewis fight he hit Lewis hard and often enough to have Lewis turning his back and running away from him in the first round.

****, Briggs did far better against Lewis in 5 rounds than he did against Vitali in 12. Hell, he landed way more and better punches against Lewis in the first round then he did in 12 rounds against Vitali.

the ref stopped the fight after Briggs missed a punch and fell. LOL. It wasn't even a knockdown. I don't know about "finishing him off"

I think there was more excitement in that round of boxing than in any of Klitschkos fights ever.

If you were the ref would you have let Briggs keep fighting?

If I were the ref, I would've stopped the Vitali fight as well.

Vitali is past his prime but still a good fighter, his style is to break down a fighter rather that blow them out. Briggs did ****ing well to make it to the final bell.

How old is Lewis in that clip threadstarter?

Vitali being close to 40, old, slow and stiff himself surely has nothing to do with it....

    Just for the record.

Why was Vargas able to beat Campas in ----, but Hoya could only beat an older, worse Campas in -----

Why was Cotto able to beat Sosa in -----, but Mayweather could only beat him in -----

Why was Wlad able to stop Mercer, but Lewis couldnt?

Why was - ect, ect, ect, ect, ect

This crap happens all the time in boxing, where fighter A doesnt do what fighter B was able to do years prior, or vice versa.

When you answer those, you will realise, when comparing two different fights so far apart in time and involving two very different types of fighters (one fighter that stops you on wearing you down, the other with legit fight stopping power punches) you will realise its a stupid question to ask. Let alone the fight probably should have been stopped regardless and Briggs payed a heavy price going the distance.

    Stupid question.
