They had a segment with Tito friday night on some spanish channel. He showed a commentator around his house. At the very end he looked into the camera and started to talk to someone about how they should be worried that he was coming for them. He clearly said that he isn't done in the ring and has some unfinished buissness. Maybe he was talking to Oscar.
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=4068202 I'm a bit disapointed. I thought there were winnable fights out there for him. But he is a smart guy, and he has his health, so Oscar has made the right decision for himself and his family. What a fighter he was, ten world titles, six different weights, a great resume and now probably the most influential man in the sport of boxing. There is no doubt, De La Hoya was the most popular and marketable fighters their has been since Iron Mike Tyson. Thanks for everything, Mr De La Hoya - you retire as a modern great and will be sadly missed :good
One of the top 10 fighters of the past 20 years. I would say a notch below a Jones Floyd Pacman Hopkins... but will be an even greater promoter
I quickly wrote (I.e there are probably lots of typos) this article for the main page. I think it sums up how I feel about Oscar quite well. This content is protected
To all you so called boxing fans critising the man, he was a warrior who fought some great names in his career, yes he lost some of the big fights, but he took them on and was competative in them. Why cant people just congratulate him on a job well done over a long time, and wish him well in his retirement, ODH has been a great boxer and provided some great nights. To those posting negative comments, have you ever achieved anything even remotely close I imagine not, typical critics say alot, achieve **** all
