As in guys who have good genes and are already in decent shape and athletic. Not couch potatoes who just jump out of bed. Norton was one of those guys. Incredibly talented with the seemingly perfect body for sports. His high school record in multiple competitions speaks for itself. And when you have that kind of talent and you bust your ass in training, almost no one can keep up. Some guys take far less time than others to get in good shape. This is not even up for debate. Some guys have a more skinny lanky frame and it takes them forever to put on muscle. Others have more stout bulky builds and can build muscle quickly, but they also get fat very quickly if they don't watch what they eat. Then you have guys in the middle who have high metabolism and have a good amount both fast twitch explosive and red muscle. There's plenty of documentation, videos, and books on this subject and I don't have time to try and convince a hard headed clown who thinks he knows everything. Do your research and then get back with me.
So guys who are already in shape can get jacked in a couple of months? Yeah no- That doesn’t make sense they can get More muscular yes but not jacked. it also wasn’t what you illustrated you said men with the right genes could get jacked with basic body weight exercises in a few months that’s literally one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. Lol You’re picking a hilarious hill to die. It’s even better when you throw in all the fast twitch muscle fiber, meso body type talk like you know what you’re on about even though it’s completely irrelevant to the topic. You can have the best genes in the world, work as hard as you want have as many fast twitch muscle fibres as you want but if you don’t make serious progressions it means nothing it’s very simple people get more muscular by making something progressively more challenging. You can’t achieve that with very basic body weight work because it quickly becomes an endurance exercise unless you move on and even then you’d never look like Norton. To look like Norton naturally you would need to lift very heavy and even then you’re set up for failure. I have a 110kg strict overhead press do you think I have shoulders like Norton? No- do you think he invested the time to build his shoulders the way I did no- he took PEDs lifted on the side and went hard. Get over it.
1. Muhammad Ali 2. Carlos Monzon 3. Archie Moore 4. Salvador Sanchez 5. Alexis Arguello, plus two more Matthew Saad Muhammad and John Conteh.
Monzon? Very uncharacteristic of you. I understand the rest. I expected to see someone like Patterson on your list with how much you value morals and manners!
I do not think a man should kill his spouse or mistreat her, a lady should be treated with respect, I have been married for 22 years, with a 20 year old son. But as you know I have followed Carlos since he won the title in 1970 until he retired as champion in 1977. I also have mentioned in the past, I came face to face with him at the Sugar Ray Leonard vs Daniel Gonzalez fight in my hometown on March 24 1979, we exchanged a nod up of our heads and a smile as I exited the restroom to go buy a beer. I liked his boxing style, he was not boastful or flashy, he won his own way.. He exhibited confidence, never tried to copy anybody else. But me personally, Morals and manners are a very important aspect of my life, we have brought up our son with those same morals and values.
Did I say they just do the same exercises over and over without increasing reps, challenging themselves, or changing up patterns they could get jacked? No I didn't. This is what I wrote I never said the guys I met didn't lift at all and got jacked just from doing pushups/body weight exercises. I said they weren't doing super duper power lifting regiments. I never said Norton didn't lift. I said with the knowledge people had in that era he probably wasn't constantly doing the most hardcore lifting exercises on a consistent basis. Try to read and comprehend what someone is saying before replying. How do you define "jacked"? I just mean decent looking abs, large biceps, etc. Not looking like He man. I also wasn't suggesting Norton achieved such a body in a couple months. And if Norton was lifting "very heavy" on a consistent basis doing very strenuous power lifting for building muscle in the 70's he would definitely not have the stamina he had in the 70's. You obviously don't know how boxers trained in that era and you definitely don't know how Cardio works. It wasn't until the 90's that boxing trainers figured out how to balance strength training and stamina. People had no idea how to be able to lift heavy weight while also maintaining the stamina to go 12 rounds which is why trainers forbade it. Unless you believe Norton was just way ahead of the curve? If you think that's the case, it requires evidence. You would also need evidence he used peds. If you cannot provide any then you should probably stop talking out of your ass.
More nonsense- You suggested SOME guys could get jacked in a few months off BASIC bodyweight workouts. You are a back peddling moron who can't admit he's wrong and are trying to weasel out of it like pretty much every post before this. Just stop lol.
Show me where I said guys could get jacked with just a few months using only body weight workouts. I'll wait. I even quoted my own post to show you misinterpreted what I said. Are you mentally ill? Schizophrenic perhaps? Is this the post you're referring to? I mentioned several other things, not just doing body weight exercises lol.
[QUOTE="Glass City Cobra, post: 21250997, member: 115843" This content is protected High metabolism and a naturally lean/athletic physique could be part of it too. Many old school boxers did not use weights whatsoever and this is common knowledge. Many trainers chewed them out for it and forbade it.[/QUOTE] Yikes- This must be embarrassing
