Did I say they would get jacked ONLY doing body weight exercises? read the post again, very slowly.[/QUOTE] Oh you're right the running is the key to building all that muscle

You really know nothing and I am embarrassed for you at this point every post you have produced in this debate is cringe inducing at the sheer level of ignorance involved.
To clarify the debate: Is the key word here "calisthenics"? With an expansive reading of that term to include advanced gymnastics stuff?

That includes things like planks, burpees, squats, leg raises, chin ups, dips, jumping rope, etc. All of those exercises can make someone look jacked if they do them enough consistently, changing up their workout patterns, etc. Especially if they're also doing running and watching what they eat, and in the context of this thread, doing boxing training. Yes calisthenics can build muscle: https://schoolofcalisthenics.com/2019/08/12/building-muscle-with-calisthenics/ I also NEVER SAID Norton did not lift weights and when I asked you to show me where I said that, you backed off. I have repeatedly said if he did then it was either light weights or in moderation because of the attitudes towards training in the 70's which is well documented. If he was doing he man hardcore power lifting he would NOT have the amazing stamina he did. You said Norton was on peds, I asked you for proof and you backed off. I'm still waiting for your evidence.
most trainers in older era told their boxers to avoid weight lifting because it would male a boxer, slow, lose flexibility. A big chest, front shoulders basically takes some of the snap from a boxer. Good advice because most people don't know the correct way to use resistance back then Norton was an exception, He lifted weight while playing football and he was able stay quick, agile. Don't know how much they helped him in the ring Norton probably did it to attract women
I also mentioned calisthenics. Bodyweight work and Cali is the SAME ****ING THING YOU MORON. If Norton lied about lifting then why are you mad I said he lifted heavy? seems a bit silly buddy also you can have stamina and lift I box just fine and lift a lot more then the average hell I would say I would be one of the strongest 155lbers you'd ever meet. Now I am not Norton but who was? You can have stamina very good stamina and lift and Norton showed us that by being 210lbs and like 10%bf LOL even if he didn't lift and looked like that via freak genes like he claims muscle is muscle no matter how he got there it eats up oxygen so you can obviously be big and still have a good gas tank which pretty much dispels the rubbish you have written about "You don't get cardio" also... You'd never look like Norton "Powerlifting" again you know nothing. What proof do you want a pic of Norton shooting up? It is a theory not a fact it holds truer then "Jacked in a few months"
The modern guys on that website are doing advanced gymnastic stuff. Are you saying that Norton was probably doing planche progressions, dragon flags, that kind of thing?
I mean, at one level I actually want Norton to have secretly been taking high level gymnastics, since that would be awesome rules-lawyering. "No, coach. Don't worry. I'm not doing any of that nasty weight training stuff. (I'm just hiring an Olympic gymnastics trainer to get me basically the same result...)" It would also fit the spindly legs, which amuses me.

Not all calisthenics are body weight exercises for building up bulky muscle. I never said he never lifted heavy nor did I get "mad". I said it's unlikely that he consistently lifted super heavyweights with lots of reps on a regular basis in the 70's because of the climate. And he himself said he wasn't lifting very heavy regularly. If you think he's lying provide evidence. No, I don't need you to post a pic of Norton shooting up. What you wrote is not a "theory" it's speculation based on zero evidence provided other than him having an impressive physique. You do know how evidence works right? Are there articles or interviews or documentaries following Norton's career indicating he might have used? A leak from a doctor or personal trainer? Anything? Lol using yourself as an example is not valid because 1) that's anecdotal and 2) you are training in the MODERN ERA. In the 70's they heavily frowned upon lifting weights and most athletes (not just boxers) in explosive sports usually did not focus on very heavyweights. Are you denying this? That's not even up for debate. There's a reason NBA players today look buffer than the average player in the 60's and 70's for example. The vast majority of trainers back then did NOT know how to build up muscle through heavy weight lifting while ALSO building up good cardio to go 15 rounds and having good speed and fluidity. This is a fact. Janitor and several other posters can confirm previous eras avoided weights. I'm not saying they were RIGHT BTW (I know you heavily struggle with reading comprehension ) I'm just telling you what the prevailing thought was AT THE TIME. I'm well aware that boxers TODAY can lift heavily and build muscle while maintaining good cardio lol. I never once denied that was possible. I said most trainers in the 70's didn't have that knowledge. I'm honestly very shocked anyone beating their chest arrogantly claiming to be knowledgeable on this subject was unaware of this, it's common knowledge.
Never said that. I was simply saying you can get jacked with calisthenics. This whole thing started because he refuses to believe some people do have genes that allow for faster gains than others. I mentioned that I knew some people who got jacked without lifting heavy weights all the time. Not once did I say Norton in the 70's did all those things in the website. Totally different conversation.
