Yeah it counts they're part of the team and are starters. Just because they happen to be the biggest doesn't make them not part of the team.

Losing talent to NFL/NBA is just an excuse. Could say the same for Soccer, Tennis, Cricket, Rugby in other countries.

In 1998 when France won the world cup, the English were obsessed with french training techniques. 10 years later the French sucked. It was just luck. A good crop of players came through at the same time. Sport comes and goes in cycles.

The same can be said of boxing. The golden era of heavyweight boxing was a fluke. The fantastic four was a fluke. The lack of decent US heavyweights is just bad luck thats all.

    :patsch

So I guess 50 years of great HWs was a fluke? 100 years of dominating the sport was a fluke?

No, like I said...its a global sport now. but some of it will come down to variance. In 5 years time there could be 5 world class american heavies.

Im no basketball expert, but I remember the US winning the Basketball gold with College kids. But now they have to try hard to win. The rest of the world is catching up. Same with boxing.

That was because the rest of the world was using their pros and we were sending our kids. We lost got fed up and sent in our pros the Dream Team and they mopped the floor with them.
