Why did Andre Ward lie about knock down?

    Can someone explain why Andre Ward lied about it being the first time he's ever been knocked down to Max Kellerman? What was the thinking behind this? Does he really believe that most boxing fans are so stupid as to forget or unable to look for through the archives to look at his previous fight with Boone

    These lies he has spread, not to mention the one where he said that he is such an honourable man that if he felt he lost the fight, he would have acknowledge it to his opponent after the fight.

    His actions do not surprise me, however shocking they are as this is someone that would go as so far as to shamelessly rob the epithet of the revered kabir Jesus by declaring himself the Son of God. An act that in the days of yore would have had him burned to blazes without hesitation.

    What shocks me is that no one holding this man accountable for his actions. Why has boxing allowed this thief to do what the hell he wants with full impunity?

    He is a liar and has a bad personality.

    He also said that Kovalev wasn't his toughest fight.

    That was a strange moment, maybe he feels it was the first time he felt in jeopardy? Either way it was a false statement.

    In all honesty I think you might be looking too far and too deep to find negative traits within aforementioned that surpasses the overall Ward product. I don't mind humility it's actually a refreshing trait however Ward (respectfully) doesn't need to admit anything to you, he does believe he won and while the victory wasn't overwhelming it was real. I had him winning 114-113.

    The same can be said about Sergei, I don't find his personality appealing at all though i don't personally know the guy so it's unfair to place judgement.

    You cannot get the two mixed up. A knock down is a knock down, you cannot confuse it with being in trouble. It was a straight inexcusable bare faced lie and then in the next breath tried to dedicate his false victory to Jesus, as if he would have anything to do with such a lowly hypocritical swindler

    There was nothing real about the victory except it being notified on the record books. In reality Ward did not win enough rounds, fought negatively, knocked down and ran and spoiled for most of the fight.

    It was the 2nd robbery of the night. A man such as yourself who would back such a disgraceful horse, would tell me that Hooker deserved his victory that night also. The judges already showed they were of no integrity. I'd wager that Ward's fixers informed him that all he needed to do was get through the 12 rounds.

    Yep that sounded so arrogant and smug considering he went life and death with Kovalev. If Ward had any class he'd be gracious in victory; Floyd (initially) was very gracious towards Pacman, until it became obvious Pac was a sore loser.

    Again I find strange that Ward would experience convenient amnesia regarding his obvious knock down. I'm not one to put to much stock into something that essentially means nothing in the grand scheme of things. You might be trying to hard to paint Ward the villain. The fight was certainly not a robbery but I cannot and will not attempt to change your mind. We are all built with a percentage of confirmation biased and you have decided to view the bout in such a way that you cannot envision a Ward victory. It is what it is....

    Floyd also gave immediate rematches to the fighters with which he had close fights.

    Yall complain about the man's personality yet his personality got you guys talking about him, spreading his name. I'd say he's doing a fine job in that regard lol suckers

    No idea why Ward was saying that, but in fairness he actually corrected that statement in a later interview.

    Ward was actually in serious trouble against Boone, he was far more hurt than the Kovalev knockdown and was saved by the bell.

    I think the answer is clear - Mr Andre Ward is hiding what can only be described as a pathetic chin. There's something about defensive US fighters....they all seem to fight that way because they know they have pretty despicable punch resistance. We had all this with Mayweather.
