Why did Andre Ward lie about knock down?

His chin didn't really improve he just got into the flow of the fight and got used to kovalevs power. But I understand what you're trying to say.

 

I've noticed over the years that boxers have to ignore reality most of the time.
Like when they pump themselves up to "hate" a guy that they really don't hate
just to get the adrenaline going. Like when they continue to fight when they
should retire. Like when BHop swears he slipped out of the ring rather than
admit he got his ass beat...by a white guy to whom of course he could NEVER
be defeated by.

Ward has to tell himself that he didn't get hurt or get knocked down by Kovalev
because that would diminish his ego, his self regard. Lots of boxers do the same thing,
but it is interesting with respect to Ward because he's a smart guy, I think, outside
of the ring. But I guess he just has to be that way.

He's a narcissic ***** that does look cute for the cameras. I've was standing right besode him a year ago at the Kovalev-Pascal fight. What I've just read and what I've experienced tells me a lot about Ward. He's a POS to his fans...I'm not one of them anymore.

 

Power is the last thing to leave a fighter so Shane still hit plenty hard. How fought Floyd afterwards has nothing to do with the examples that show that his chin was still solid.

I always assumed from what I had seen of ward that he was this bad of a person but its nice to hear its actually true

Unfortunately boxing is breeding more and more of these gutter men like Ward, Mayweather, broner and Crawfords of this world, but that is the product of it's fanbase enabling these pieces of garbage who would have been thrown in the bin in the past before they had a sniff of poisoning this great sport.

Apart from that garage incident ,iv heard a lot of reports he is a great chap from people who have met him, you guy here said he met him after a fight and he asked did he want to go to the after party with him
