Why did Anthony Joshua put up such a low offer to fight Dillian Whyte?

I feel Hearn is taking the easier option of fighting Miller because he wants to keep his meal ticket with his title belts like Rock Newman did with Bowe while he was champ, was Lewis right to call AJ a coward?

 

How much was this such a low offer? Im seeing Whyte complain about it, im seeing the entire LDBC complaining about it. But what is it? Im surprised Whyte has complained about it but not said what it is. I know he said its less than he got v Chisora but is it? Was it?

 

He needs to mention the figure or stop whining, it could be a good purse and him over pricing himself !

 

It's a cat and mouse situation.

Joshua is going over old ground and the genuine dislike probably means Joshua doesn't want whyte earning serious money off the back of him.

But if whyte was confident he would take the fight and the potential win and money that comes with it after.

 

Most of the fans dont want to see AJ go over old ground. I have little interest in the rematch as the same result is extremely likely.

The Miller fight is the better fight and it will also enhance his brand name in the USA. Hearn is waiting until Sept/Oct to make the Whyte-AJ fight.

Given AJs resume at this stage of his career, Lewis is insane to call him a coward. AJ has a better resume at 23 fights than Lewis did.

 

Because he's more dangerous this time round than last simples

 

Anyone promoting the hw champ wants their man to retain his titles. However Is fighting Miller in NYC so much easier than Whyte at Wembley? I'm not convinced. I think it's more likely there are other factors in that choice. Maybe wanting to get AJ active in the US? On DAZN?

I didn't know Lewis had called AJ a coward, that's not good to hear.

 

To me it's a sign that one the Miller fight is the fight he really wants right now as he probably wants to make in roads in the US market and beating an American in America is the first step towards that.

Whyte fight will always be there for Joshua as long as Whyte keeps winning and eventually WBO will mandate it, Joshua won't have too many voluntary fights in his future that are not unification fights so this is his one chance to fight Miller any time soon.

 

Because Whyte is being grossly overpaid currently and as the same people buy both fights...something has got to give

It's time to present AJ to the US market after Fury conquering the market right now with his entertaining personality and strong performance vs. Wilder and Miller is a much tougher fight than Whyte and probably the HW #1 behind WIlder in the US right now. I don't know how anyone can say the opposite as Joshua already KTFOd Whyte. Whyte would get wrecked again. Miller has the body composition and punch output to trouble AJ with his size and weight. I do not say he wins but i think Miller will be the toughest challenge for Joshua since Wlad and probably much tougher as he has a better chin and is much younger. Whyte vs. Joshua is crap and nobody outside the UK is interested to see that. I would not even pay 1 Euro to see the fight tbh. I would pay for AJ vs. Miller.

 

Can anyone confirm that Lewis called Joshua a coward?.....i find that pretty hard to believe.

Whyte is being paid based on what he generates via PPV, love him or hate him he's built up his own following in the UK and is making good money without AJ.

Also based on how much AJ was booed at Whyte/Chisora 2 I think it's fair to say there's a decent contingent of Whyte fans who are not AJ fans. Probably local North London lads like Whyte who don't like a south London heavy like AJ, it's stupid but fans get territorial like that based on where they are from.

 

Then why not fight Wilder in the US? He beats Wilder handidly. For the record I’m not a big fan on either fighter but prefer Wilder.

 

Hearn issued a rematch clause in the U.S, Wilder wants no part of it.

Why not fight Wilder in the U.S ? No HW champions calling the shots ever gave up any leverage , and certainly not in Vegas which is corrupted beyond repair in its reputation. Fury himself deserves to lose the rematch if he goes there.
