The only different with my 'on the night' card is I gave Bivol round 3 and Beterbiev round 4.

I saw the fight as TWO games of 2 halfs:-

Rounds 1-3 - Biovl sharp, boxing well, jabbing well, 1/2 reset formula working well, Artur looking quite slow and flat footed mostly, although he started to get busier and wake up somewhat at the end of round 3

Rounds 4-6 - Beterbiev upped his worked rate, and started to boss Dmitry, and although many of Arturs shots were being blocked, I started to see the effects, where Bivol was not having as much success with the 1/2 reset formula. Beterbiev had some decent success to the body

Rounds 7-9 - Bivol stabliized things and maybe got a 2nd wind, and seemed to me that Artur was starting to feel the effects of his workrate in 4-6, where his output dropped, he wasn't cutting the ring off as well and making Dmitry look uncomfortable. He had one return flurry in round 7 after Bivol got too greedy in a combination. Round 9 was Bivol's best of the fight, where it started to look like he had the better conditioning and was having his way with things scoring cleanly and not being as passive.

Rounds 10-12 - Artur seemed to get a 2nd wind, or geed up by his team and upped his workrate again, with Bivol ceding much ground and not working as hard - maybe his efforts in round 9 took a lot out of him. Round 11 was Artur's best round of the fight, with Bivol looking to survive and not firing back with much at all; I think this was a bad look going into the final round, where Artur carried on, but Bivol managed to come back into it midway through the round, possibly scoring the better shots, but Artur contolled things more, and still had his own success in the 2nd half of the round.

One thing I really don't like in these types of debates is some 'faschistic certainty' on things; whilst I am certain on how I saw the fight (feeling like a draw was the best reflection of the fight), I don't have the hubris to think that through my lens is the only way the fight can be interprted, there is wiggle room for people that interpret the criteria in subtly different ways.

But within reason - I'd still like Glen Feldman to explain how the hell he gave Beterbiev round 9. I am 100% certain that Bivol won that round!

I think that's the fairest scorecard all comes down how you score 4 which I could see going either way

Well that's what the official punch stats say.

I don't believe it was the only round like that either, a poor result from what I believe was a good contest. But hey Boxing is so corrupt. Time to start a new

I personally thought this fight was very close throughout I didn't think the early rounds were not as clear cut for Bivol as people on here make out same as the later rounds for Beterbiev. Both men clearly won a few rounds quite clearly at points in the fight though and I was thinking probably a draw but I sort of feel like it's fairer that Beterbiev won.

If I remember rightly early on in this fight Beterbiev buzzed Bivol quite badly at the end of one of the first 3 which was probably enough to win it for him. Bivol buzzed Beterbiev a few times as well in the fight and I was also impressed how well Bivol recovered in-between rounds when Beterbiev hurt him.

than you, bud. all right, i left off after 9. got it 7-2 bivol. lets see what the home stretch looked like.

rd 10. first clear score is a hard right by biev at 2:23. combo by bivol connects on top of bievs head at 2:11. nobody really scores clearly, til 1:32, where biev seems to land a paw on the back of bivols ear. left-right combo, both connect for bivol at :54. switches the combo to right-left, and scores both again at :50. they both mix it up in exchanges, but both cover up pretty well, so no more clean blows til right before the bell when biev looks like he connected one behind the ear. neither did a whole lot of clean work, but bivol did more of it, and with better technical proficiency. rd to bivol. makes my card 8-2 bivol.
