Why did BHop duck a rematch when Tito was on his knees begging for one?

A rematch would have been pointless. Trinidad came in with all the confidence, energy and support anyone could wish for and still got dominated badly.

Trinidad had a tune-up then retired after that fight for 2 years, he certainly had no interest to enforce a rematch with his activity.

Wrong pai. He was distracted because of all the mamis he was ****ing during training camp and he had problems making weight. Tito wanted the rematch and Roy in 2002 but none of them wanted it :deal

I don't like bhop and Tito is one of my favourites but I think Hopkins beat him well enough not to need a rematch IMO

He really did not looked for a rematch. He was even scared to give a rematch to DLH.

Too be fair to Bhop (even though I hate his guts for what he did) Oscar didnt deserve a rematch after going down from a body shot. BHop shouldve gave Tito the rematch:deal

He was distracted and problem of making weight and BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!! Number 1 how in the world can he have problem making the weight if this was his second fight at mw? Number 2, this distraction stuff is just plain old bs. I'm tired of that excuses. I was a trinidad fan and believe me i wanted trinidad to ko hopkins but trinidad got his butt whipped badly. You think trinidad is the only one that was effected by 9/11? You dont think hopkins was effected by it as well? Or everyone else? Its a bunch of bs excuse. When hopkins dominate 3 fighters that was suppost to beat him (Trinidad, Tarver, Pavlik) All 3 of those had huge excuses.

Trinidad : I wasnt focused. I was getting a divorce. 9/11 Effected me. My weight problems.

Tarver "I was killing myself to make weight. Somebody drug me."

    Pavlik "I had a 110 fever"

should hopkins also gave tarver and pavlik rematches as well after the way he beat the hell out of both of them? i mean both of them like trinidad made big time excuses as to why they got their butts whipped

Hopkins from my memory tried to make the rematch but they were not able to come to an agreement on the purse split. Hopkins having won the first fight wanted the bigger purse this time around. Trinidad also retired the next year so that ended any possibility of any rematch.

Funny how back in the day Dibella exposed Hopkins for ducking this rematch... I have no idea why it didnt happen, I dont think the public really cared to see one, though I do agree he had personal issues and was in NY during the attacks anybody would have been shook up over that ****.
Would have liked to have seen the rematch myself but I have a feeling Tito only would have done slightly better

What would a rematch have done to Tito ? Force him into an earlier retirement ..It was a good thing Hopkins didn't get his hands on Trinidad again !
