Why did Bowe refuse to defend his strap against Lewis?

    The trashcan stunt was pitiful. All it got was Bowe & Newman virtually blackballed from the major boxing orgs when they finally lost the title, and made Lewis look poor despite him earning a legitimate shot at the title and beating the #1 contender in his next fight.

    Just crap all round.
    And the laughable thing is, once the cameras had stopped, they had to go fish the title out of the bin and hand it over to the WBC official before leaving since they couldn't actually leave it there.

    In the end it all boils down to ABC/Boxing politics.

    Just walking off would have been badass. Being a trash picker himself kinda goes against what Bowe initially said about what Lewis would have to do if he wanted the title. :roll:
