...for a huge sum but rather opted to fight Pacquiao instead?

Because that's one of the biggest paychecks possible in boxing, and he was scared he'd lose to Amir Khan and miss that shot with much less reward. Not the mentality I think fighters should have when they're pining for a mega-bout, but it worked for him.

It was a smart financial move. Bradley was guaranteed to make at least a million dollars for his next fight after Alexander, regardless of his opponent by HBO. By passing on the Khan fight, he guaranteed himself two big paydays in the future instead of one. Which is why he made 1.02 million on a undercard against a shot Joel Casamayor and will be making a career high payday against Pacquiao.

It doesn't matter at this point because at the end of the day

    Pac > Khan

Unless you're insisting Brad ducked Khan....to fight Manny.

    1) The Pacquiao check is fatter.
    2) Losing to Pacquiao isn't a big deal and wouldn't hurt his career. Losing to Khan automatically labels Bradley a hype job because boxing fans are idiots.

    This, pretty much.

Bradley said himself that losing to Khan would hurt his chances of a Pac fight and recognised that the Khan fight was a risk that wouldn't of been worth taking at that time.

You guys are making out as though Bradley opted to fight Pacquiao INSTEAD of Khan. That wasn't the case at all. Because there's been that 12 month period of him doing **** all since the refusal. Plenty of time to squeeze the Khan fight in whilst waiting for Pacquiao - who was already tied to JMM for November and was never ever gonna' be available for Bradley until summer 2012.

The reason he ducked Khan, was because he was afraid of losing his unbeaten record. He took the easy way out. People are forgetting that Khan was also on the very same path as him. He too was heading towards his mega payday against Floyd. But the difference was, Khan was confident and willing to risk it all, whilst Bradley wasn't.

    (Excuse typos. On iPhone)

Your two paragraphs contradict each other. He was afraid to lose that unbeaten record because he'd also lose the Pacquiao shot. Therefore, he did opt to fight Pacquiao instead of Khan. I'm sure Arum guaranteed him the fight for joining Top Rank.
