Why did Broner move up to WW so quickly at the age of 23.

Yeah, gotta rate the loyalty I guess. I'm just really annoyed with Broner. Has all the ability, good chin but no work ethic. When he beat DeMarco I was so gassed. If anyone looked through my posts from around that time I'm sure I said he'd be P4P number 1 by time Floyd ready to retire smh 🙈

 

Truthfully he was always a welterweight in size, said it when he still held a title at superfeatherweight and was stripped for failing to make weight.

Main reason he was successfull at the lower weights was because he was fighting much smaller guys and when he moved up he was outboxed by Malignaggi and seemed to think he was better than he was.

Porter/Maidana showed he didnt have the talent/heart to succeed at 147 and at 140 with guys like Lamont Peterson, Lucas Matthysse, Terence Crawford, Ruslan Provodnikov, Viktor Postol etc. he has no hopes of winning world honors with his lack of work rate and he and his management know this. Its why he got put in against C level fighters after the Maidana loss then moved up for a catchweight agains Shawn Porter who they believed was stagnating after his loss to Kell Brook.

Honestly his best option right now is a high profile slugger like Brandon Rios and even then its iffy if he will win that fight.

 

It's more impressive to move up two weight divisions and there was more options/money to be made.

 

He has agreat advisor and promoter in Al Haymon. We should ask him why they faulked his career by throwing him in with the lions when he was obviously so unpolished, and so flawed...

Brandon is a much better pressure fighter than Porter, I mean at least a level or two above Porter.

 

Because he's lazy and this cause him to be out of shape and fat between his fights. This will take his toll on him and it already begun.

 

Broner will be retired by age 30 and have ceased to be relivant in boxing for the last couple years of his career.

 

They tried to cherry pick a title at 147 against a perceived weak champion in Malignaggi rather than to face a perceived stronger opponent at 140.

 

if he won a belt at 147, they could have cooked a fight with floyd in-house and him making money but he failed all his tests.
